   Good experiences 3 out of 3

   We have used Harvey Moving on 3 moves and have high praise for their performance, and value. On the 3rd move for our 89 yr. old father and wife, during covid restrictions, it was even trickier and they delivered. I was less happy with the unpacking service which we only used for this 3rd move, specifically the hourly rate (I’d look for an independant next time). However Harvey’s bread and butter is the moving and I highly recommend them.

   Beware of Quote.

   Please beware of the quote that you are given with this company. Phil from Harvey's Moving came to our home and said he had 25 years experience with them. I took him around and showed him everything that would be included. He told me that they had a 53' trailer and would have no problem getting everything in the truck. Quoted 6.5 hours plus their driving time (also any time for the team to have to wait for the key). It ended up being 12.5 hours with 3 men. Plus, we loaded 4 extra cars because they brought a smaller truck. The men on the job were very polite and worked hard. I have to mention too that it would have taken longer if my 15 & 13 year old sons didn't help when loading into the new home. My 10 year old daughter put all the clothes in the closets from the carrying boxes to help speed things up. After the move that night our bill was about $1000 more than expected. We complained about this and Dave (the VP) negotiated a price (taking about $400 off the bill). We paid it in full. During the move we had an antique shelf break, a drawer damaged and our barbeque broken. We submitted a claim for the items. We are in a situation now where the owner (Alex) will not submit the claim for our damages because he said that we didn't pay the original bill, even though we have it in writing that Dave negotiated the new price and we paid the bill in full!! The quoting was WAY off, and now they're not doing what they said they were going to do..which was put in the claim after the new bill was paid in full. The Alex and Dave are now not answering our phone calls.

   Good movers but charged way too much.

   We booked Harvey Moving Systems for a move that included a month and a half storage and then a delivery. The guys that did the actual move were excellent. Very professional, took good care of the furniture and were very pleasant. We had to move the delivery date since our new home was not ready. That was no problem they had a few future dates available. We booked the Monday, unfortunately there was inclement weather and the company called to rebook and said they would pay for our hotel for the night. They only paid a portion of the costs since they had a limit. The day of the move went well. The ISSUE we had with Harvey Moving Systems was the quote was NO WHERE NEAR what it actually cost. We were quoted 3 men, 10 hours to pick up and go to storage. They sent 4 men and 11 hours to pick up and go to storage. They forgot to include the 5.5 hours of repacking the truck. They quoted 8 hours for delivery and it took 8.5 hours. Our bill ended up to be 42% (FORTY_TWO PERCENT) more than quoted. A real rude awakening. A couple of thousand dollars more than expected. Other companies were more accurate with their quotes when we look back. But the sales rep seemed confident that everything could be done at his quote. Also dealing with the manager was a poor experience. He was not willing to discuss the extra charges and ended up being very belligerent on the phone. Again the men that did the actual move were great but beware of the extra costs.

   Late and incomplete service.

   Started out great.  Good sales pitch, great relationship, on time pickup and loading.  Delivery then became later and later as truck broke down, drivers changed. Driver changed and although both drivers were nice and doing their best the circumstances made it worse.  Hardware for items was in first driver's possession and he didn't deliver so they were lost.  Truck was in coldest weather over for 11 days (6 days after promised delivery) so all things with liquid and glass broke/leaked.  Payment is demanded before things unload so repair requests don't get completed after.  Has been 13 days since delivery and bed is still not complete as well as other damage not fixed or refunded.  Salesman is no longer helpful, only refers to company claims department looking into it.  Claims department says it's 'tagged emergency' since it's a bed but no one follows up for actual repair or solutions.  It's like everyone scatters when things go wrong and the great sales pitch disappears.

   No Covid-19 protocols followed

   Harvey’s Moving DID NOT respect Covid-19 protocols during our recent move. They REFUSED to wear masks in our home, frequent hand washing and sanitizing was not apparent and there was no effort made to social distance. They told us they could not wear face coverings ( other than the initial walk through of 5 minutes) due to the cardio aspect of their job. We have since contacted other moving companies and individuals who have moved during the pandemic and have learned that those we contacted, had Covid-19 policies in effect and all of the movers wore masks and observed protocols during the moves. The one star rating is based on this issue. The team was otherwise efficient however, we would not have contracted Harvey’s with our move if we had known upfront they were not going to follow Covid-19 protocols, including wearing of masks.

   Cancelled move 6 days prior prior to move date.

   Booked Harvey's Moving and Storage and confirmed move date numerous times over the past month. Even changed our move date to accommodate them by 1 day. Six days before they were to move us they called to try and change the date again. When told we can't change the close date they told us no problem they would work around the date agreed on, and would call back by the end of the day. When they didn't call back I called and spoke to a different representative and he told me they weren't coming and then hung up on me. That left me scrambling to find a reputable mover who could move us on our moving date. If you want to book this company I would suggest having a backup company on file as Harvey's Moving may decide at the last minute to not show up and not inform you.
