   Staff are okay, but manager is unprofessional

   We had two people show up for a "manpower job": unloading a uhaul, and move a piano. The two gentlemen were pleasant to work with, and they worked hard -- although they did smoke around our stuff. When it comes to moving pianos, these people are definitely not experts. I have worked with professional piano movers. They have equipment. The company claimed they had a piano dolly, but they had neither the skill or know-how to move the piano upstairs. With the *correct* equipment, this can be done by a *single* mid-sized person. Okay, fine, they're not going to do it. So they charged $180 to place the piano in the downstairs lobby. (I could have managed this with my wife.) No discount. No refund. Then, in what can only be described as a money grubbing twist, the manager said they'd charge us an *ADDITIONAL* $340 to attempt to get the piano up the stairs. Everyone wants to make money, and that's fine. But if you're going to charge money, you should AT LEAST know what you're doing. For $180 per move, you can afford a powered dolly that works on stairs. I have worked with professional piano movers -- the type of people who service piano stores. Our job was not hard. High Level Movers were perfectly willing to take my money, but they had did not have the expertise for the job, and it seems to me that they don't even know that they don't know. Use this company at your own risk. Hold onto your wallet. Caveat Emptor.
