   They were so fast! My stuff almost arrived before me!

   They are extremely efficient, careful, respectful and have the best price. The moving agent, Patrick, walks you through everything, is always available, and is super helpful when you have multiple questions. This makes you decide to seal the deal and sign the contract with Liffey Vanlines instead of the hundreds of other available moving companies. Jim is a very professional and excellent in-home estimator. He is personable and gets right down to business noting everything you say that you plan to move and all of your requests. He was super-efficient and his estimate was precise. Kevin was a very efficient leader of the moving team and listened to and implemented all of your requests. Kevin and his team of Alejandro, Ivan, Calvin, Samuel and Jose were extremely efficient packing and being careful with my belongings. My belongings arrived almost before I did and without a scratch. Liffey Vanlines is a well-oiled machine. I'm still shocked at how efficient they were and have already recommended them to friends and family for US and international moves.

   Liffey, their office staff and their caring, hard working movers made what could have been a stressful situation much easier for me. There were two moves involved -- one from Westchester County in New York to storage and then some nine months later from storage in Manhattan to Cape Cod. In both instances the crews arrived on time even a little early , ready to work, and never stopped until the task was completed. Our furniture and belongings were wrapped with care, protected and delivered in perfect condition. Heavy furniture was placed in rooms where needed and I was confident that all would be just fine. I sometimes wondered where the company could find such remarkable crews-- in both moves --and mentioned this to the office staff. I highly recommend and have recommended Liffey to my friends and others who may be planning to move.

   Great Move with Liffey Van Lines.

   I'm a former owner of a large moving company and have seen a lot of movers in action. From the very start, Liffey shined. Their estimator arrived at my house on-time, reviewed our scheduling (Last week of June - the worst time to move, as all movers are booked solid) and promptly submitted their estimate. The crew we received - Ed Nolan (leader), Thomas, Louis, Edgar and Walter were among the best I've ever seen. It was a 3 day move, involved lots of heavy items (I have a huge tool & equipment collection) plus fireproof files and a safe. The weather was hot and humid, but never a complaint from the guys! They protected our houses and property, everything was padded and stretch wrapped in the house, and place exactly where we wanted it. Nothing was damaged, even though we had 7 truck loads in total. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would recommend to anyone moving.

   I would not trust your belongings to this firm.

   I would not hire Liffey Van Lines again. Liffey packed and moved my effects with so little concern that it saw to stacking heavy items on top of items clearly marked as fragile, doing damage to containers and contents, knocked a leg off of an antique table clearly indicated to them as fragile, and then chose not to be honest about the situation in two different ways on two separate occasions. My complaint isn’t about the damage to the antique table- accidents happen; my complaint is about the way Liffey treated my belongings from the outset of the job and how they chose to deal with me afterwards. I would not trust your belongings to this firm. - Upon review of the items delivered to my storage unit, I found that among other things like it, as an example, a plastic trunk marked as fragile and containing plates and glasses was placed in a moving box and on top of it was stacked a similar trunk full of heavy books. This other trunk was so heavy that the positioning of the two items was such that the bottom trunk buckled and warped and the contents damaged. This was the case with other of items, as well. It is clear that, despite assurances from Liffey that they would handle the fragile items appropriately, this was not the case. - The moving crew damaged an antique table, which was in sound condition and was identified to them and clearly marked as fragile, during the move. Upon delivery of the piece, when the damage was immediately clear, the crew foreman insisted that the table was broken when they first packed it, and that the estate’s co-executor has acknowledged this. This statement was false, and I provided evidence to this effect to Liffey’s main office. Later, when the issue was again raised for follow up with Liffey’s main office, the crew’s foreman insisted, instead, that the table was actually in sound condition when he delivered it. This statement was also false, and I provided video evidence of the table and the damage visible upon delivery, to Liffey’s main office. The way Liffey treated my belongings from the outset of the job and how they chose to deal with me afterwards was really disappointing. I would not trust your belongings to this firm.

   Scammed.

   I recently moved locally in NYC from one apartment to another apartment. We submitted our original claim form with additional insurance. A representative got my wife on the phone and talked her out of it - saying it would be too expensive to get insurance, that even 'if the truck got on fire' you wouldn't receive that much back and so we should just go with the basic insurance and not waste our money. Well, since we were set to move the next day - she submitted as he suggested (he pressured her to get it in before he left at 4p or our move was at risk!). We then had a $1600 TV break - which basic insurance covers 60c/lb. We got $39 back for it. The individual we dealt with will no longer call us back - the company says they have no incentive to help suggest changes in insurance and they did nothing wrong. The fact that the individual we used won't respond to us should tell you all you need to know about this incredibly shady moving company. We had several other things beaten up in the move - though that is typical - this is my 5th move within NYC. But a TV breaking? And of course the company assured my wife nothing ever breaks. Wish we had more time to vet these guys - we didn't - we were under some time pressure and made the wrong call with a very shady company who is arrogant and abusive over the phone. Don't get scammed by these guys.
