   Absolutely horrible experience

   I hired Colonial Van Lines to move our household belongings from Ohio to Florida with a scheduled move date of October 1st. We were not told they contracted out to Old Baymeadows Movers which is who showed up finally on October 4, as no one would accept the job, despite being scheduled since August with the salesman Thomas. My husband, myself, and our 4 boys had to leave for Florida as we had previously scheduled appointments and a job interview scheduled, therefore I had to make last minute arrangements for a family member to meet them. They showed up in a Penske rental box truck after we agreed upon a semi in order to fit all of our belongings. Our neighbor caught the driver of the moving company joy riding on my son's 4 wheeler, which we just discovered is broken from the ride. It is now October 8th and we still do not have our belongings. Colonial van lines refused to make things right, only offering a $100 rebate on the balance, despite my husband having to rent a Uhaul and drive back to Ohio to retrieve the other half of our belongings! No one from Old Baymeadows has called to make things right either. Never use either of these companies!!! No one returns phone calls, are able to locate your belongings once they have left on the truck, and are worthless with communication!

   AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

   Facts: 1. We have approximately 10,000 lbs of stuff. Colonial van lines estimated us at 8,400 lbs. 2. Colonial van lines hired Old baymeadows movers to move us. 3. They sent 1 guy and his 17 year old son to pack and move our 4 bedroom house that we have lived in for 5 years. 4. They spent 3 days packing. The last day they were at my home until 430 am. I had to sleep on the floor. 5. They van was full WITHOUT my patio set, grill, bike, bike hitch, bouncy house, and many other items. I had to give most if it away (value was around $2500). 6. They packed toilet cleaning brushes and plungers with dinner plates and canned food 7. They packed lotions, soaps, and shampoos without sealing them and as we opened several boxes and got soaked with liquid 8. They were nice and courteous. The movers complained about their parent company and nearly quit mid-job. They asked for more help to unload and did not get any one else to meet them. 9. We paid for "white glove service"
