“Full Value Van Lines made our move much easier than expected. The team was professional, careful with our belongings, and kept us updated throughout the process. Everything arrived safely, and the whole experience was well organized. I’d definitely recommend them for a long-distance move.”

“They helped make our move less stressful! After giving a few details about our needs, he was able to provide an estimate beating the competition, and get us scheduled. They checked in with us a day prior to confirm our time. They were on time, answered all our questions, professional, and got right…”

“Initial estimate was around ~$10k, and final price was over $25k. They did not send anyone out to do the estimate. Every time we talked, the price went up. We gave them a delivery date and location, and the week prior, we were told there would be an additional charge to actually guarantee that date.”

Who makes this move
Those are headcounts, not a story about why anyone left.
Census puts the flow at 28,174. ACS 2024 counts 28,174 people who moved from Arizona to California, with a margin of plus or minus 4,463. The reverse count is larger: 52,383 people moved from California to Arizona in the same data. Those are headcounts, not a story about why anyone left.
Prices and wage tax differ at each end. BEA price parity for 2024, with the US set at 100, is 100.7 in Arizona and 110.7 in California. Arizona taxes wages, and California taxes wages. Rates are not listed here, and the parity figures do not say who should move.
What the job looks like
Those figures mix home sizes and distances, so treat the median as a marker, not a quote for your load.
The common run is Phoenix to Los Angeles. In our file that pair leads, at 373 miles and about 7 hours of driving. That is the road time for the trip, not a promise of which calendar day the truck arrives. Delivery on a long-distance move is a window written on the order for service.
Price follows weight and miles. Across 48 priced reviews the median reported price is $4,356, and the middle half runs from $2,210 to $6,855. The file holds 48 reviews in all. Those figures mix home sizes and distances, so treat the median as a marker, not a quote for your load. A long-distance move is still priced by the shipment, not by a flat state fee.
Damage and delays show up in the reviews. Of the 48 reviews, 23% mention damage and 17% mention a delay or a no-show. That is a slice of this file, not a rate for every carrier on the lane. If the window slips, the dates written on the order are the record you compare to what actually happened.
Before you book
If the quote feels like a shrug, it is not ready to sign.
Start with the license. An interstate household move needs a mover with an active USDOT number and FMCSA household-goods authority. Run the number through a license lookup before money changes hands. A missing authority is a reason to stop, not a detail to fix on moving day.
Get the estimate type in writing. Ask for a binding estimate or a not-to-exceed estimate, and learn the 110 percent rule before pickup. On a non-binding estimate the mover must deliver on payment of 110 percent of the estimate. That cap is for the amount due to release the goods, and it does not replace a clear line-item price.
Put the window and the deposit on the order. The delivery window is set on the order for service, so the dates should be on paper before load day. Deposit terms belong in that same packet; read them in the deposit guide before you send funds. If the quote feels like a shrug, it is not ready to sign.

Questions people ask
- How many people moved Arizona to California?
- Census ACS 2024 counts 28,174 people moving Arizona to California, with a margin of plus or minus 4,463. The other direction is larger, at 52,383 people moving California to Arizona. The counts do not explain motives.
- How long is the common run?
- The most common run in our file is Phoenix to Los Angeles, 373 miles and about 7 hours of driving. Delivery is a window set on the order for service, not a clock time tied to that drive.
- What do the reviews report for price and trouble?
- Among 48 reviews, the median reported price is $4,356 across 48 priced reviews, and the middle half is $2,210 to $6,855. 23% mention damage and 17% mention a delay or a no-show. Prices mix home sizes and distances.
- What license should the mover hold?
- Interstate household moves need a mover with an active USDOT number and FMCSA household-goods authority. Confirm both before you book. Haulest does not haul the goods.
- How does the 110 percent rule work on this move?
- On a non-binding estimate the mover must deliver on payment of 110 percent of the estimate. A binding or not-to-exceed estimate is the cleaner ask, and the delivery window should be on the order in writing. Read deposit terms before you send any funds.
