Worst Moving Experience EVER!
1. When the movers came to the location that I was moving from they did not use any padding to wrap my dresser mirrors or drawers. They struggled to keep drawers from coming open as they moved them. Whether or not they had all of the necessary supplies on their truck is still in question. But I do know that they did not utilize it. 2. The movers were supposed to trail me to my new place, and they veered off when we reached Walnut Grove Rd, giving me NO notification. I had to call to see where they were with MY items. This is bad business practice. I have never met you before, and I am paying you to move my personal things, I need to know where you are with my items at ALL times. I am not complaining about the detour, although, it was still an unprofessional action during a move, but I am complaining about the lack of notice. It is a scary thing to look back and no longer see the moving truck you hired behind you and have no idea where it went. 3. When we got to my place, the movers broke the bottom piece to one of my larger chests. It is just the bottom decorative piece. The dresser was purchases at Royal 2 years ago, and was worth $500 at the time. It is apart of a set, and it would not be enough for me just to purchase a new chest. 4. One of the movers asked to use my restroom, although I did not have any tissue paper or paper towels. None of my stuff was unpacked, and they were still supposed to be moving my items. I assumed that he had to pee (for lack of a better word) and let him use my bathroom. He came out of the restroom rubbing his hands on his shirt and asked if I had any incents. Of course, I didn't. All of my items were still packed! He had defecated in my bathroom, before I had even used my bathroom without any tissue paper or anything! I had to dig through my boxes and finally found a candle to alleviate the smell. This was highly unprofessional and, frankly, DISGUSTING! He spent the majority of his remaining time complaining to me about how he didn't want to do another move that day, talking on the phone, and failing to help the younger gentlemen put my furniture together. Not only this, but he had me help him put one of the mattresses on the bed. I had two movers, two paid movers, I should not have been asked or expected to do this. The only reason that I did was because by this time I was completely annoyed and ready for them to leave. 5. After finally unpacking all of my things around Thursday of the same week, I discovered that my wine glasses and candle stick holders were all broken. THEY WERE IN A BOX LABELED FRAGILE. None of my items were handled with care. All of the boxes were thrown around in the moving process, but it was not until Thursday that I discovered these damages. This is what lead me to finally file a complaint. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. (Picture examples are attached. I even have a shot of the box marked "Fragile" that the glasses were in.) The box's contents: two glass candle stick holders, one set of 4 purple wide mouth wine glasses, one set of 4 clear wide mouth wine glasses, 2 other clear wine glasses, and one set of 4 drinking glasses. 6. It took 2 weeks to ever get a receipt, and I had to request it several times even though I paid for the entire move with cash, in full.
