   Tushar and Aidan arrived promptly at 9:00 am. I am a senior moving into a senior’s building and they listened to everything I wanted done before starting. The move took a little longer than I thought but I think that was because in the senior’s building there was only one elevator and the elderly people cannot use the stairs. The day went well and I would recommend these 2 young men anytime. Thank you so much…..Polly Reid

   My experience:

   The men seemed to take their time on purpose at times and also had excuses for being absent or having a break and not helping. With the prices they quote you would think that they should work fast but even though I helped for a large part of the move to get the men moving they overcharged me. They were polite though and very courteous. I will not use their service again because the amount I was charged for their tweedle dumb performance was too high.

   Move

   We were very pleased that the guys showed up a little bit early for our move. They took my direction really well and completed our move in a timely matter. They had a few problems lifting some heavy/bulky items and carrying straps would have helped. Thanks so much.

   Slow & Unclear

   Showed up 40 minutes late, took 5 hours for a 3 hour move, and left a massive hole in my new house’s wall. The guys moving were nice enough but I care more about being fast and not causing damage than how nice you are. Was quoted at $600 and ended up paying over $1k. Wouldn’t recommend.

   The worst moving company

   I used them to move to Victoria when they were starting, and they were great. Then they grew bigger and hired movers to move my stuff from Victoria to Gibson's, BC. They broke everything that was glass, the TV, the dining table, the side tables, and the lamps. I didn't get a refund because they kept saying they were looking for the broken items on another truck. The worst move ever.

   A Terrible Company

   This is just a terrible company. The men doing the moving are ignorant. They do not know what they are doing. The supervisors and managers are arrogant. They spoke to me like I was a child who did not understand what I was talking about. I could see the damage done to my goods, but I guess that doesn’t count. I hired them to move some of my possessions that were in storage at my sister’s place in Alberta to my new apartment in Vancouver BC. I took the week off from work so I could get all the boxes ready for loading, see them get loaded, and then receive them. We arranged for them to arrive on a Tuesday, load the goods, and deliver them on Thursday. I booked my flight home for the Wednesday. The movers did not show up until the Thursday, after I had to fly home, leaving my sister to supervise the loading. The excuses were that the other job they were doing was taking longer than expected, and there was some mechanical issue with the van. The movers did not arrive with my goods until the following Monday, after I had gone back to work. They unloaded my goods starting at 7 pm, until about 10. A lot of the boxes had damage to them from being put under a great many other boxes. Even some plastic totes suffered damage. A rare Star Wars portfolio was bent out of shape, making it useless as a collector’s item. And on and on. I noticed one of the movers piling boxes up against the blinds on my balcony door. I asked him not to do that, and moved the boxes away from the blinds. The very next load, he did it again, and he actually broke off one of the slats. When I spoke to the company to complain about the damage was when the arrogance of the manager came through. I could hear the sneer in her voice as I catalogued the damages. After a few days she came back with an offer of $3.00 to repair the blind. That was it. I heard from them again a few days later, asking if I had any extra boxes among my goods. Apparently the other move that was in the same van had some boxes go missing. If you use this company, do so at your own risk, and expect your goods to be damaged, if not missing, after the move is done.

   Missing Boxes

   Do not use these guys. They "lost" some of my stuff. I hired them for a move from Alberta to BC. Packing went ok. However, in BC it took me a while to unpack everything and when I was done I noticed that there were several boxes missing. I contacted them about the missing boxes and they said they didn't have them and offered no explanation on why they did not get delivered to my new house. Missing items included some irreplaceable sentimental items. I am disgusted by their so-called service. When you hire a moving company you expect that they will move everything and not "misplace" any of your stuff. I regret not going with Allied Van Lines.

   Absolutely awful

   I had the worst experience with 2 Burley Men long distance moving. The truck continually broke down and they were unable to send another, despite being told they have 80 trucks in their fleet. They did not arrive until 11pm on the day of pick up and while dispatch kept "guaranteeing" me they would arrive between 6-7pm the drivers had not left the repair shop in a city 5 hours away until 5:30pm. Which dispatch must have known about. We did not finish loading until 4:30am. The truck then broke down again on the way to my new location and the truck did not arrive until the day after I was meant to be moved in. So I was awake for yet another 24+ hour stretch. The bill was of course higher than expected because they did not actually do a walk through to understand how much I was moving and they underestimated the weight. So we were charged almost double the initial quote. I was also told that the owner had spoken to a family member of mine and given them a discount on the bill. This was confirmed with said family member to not be true. Finally, they broke the gas line to my BBQ and instead of replacing it they have been trying to tell me they'll replace certain parts meaning I would have to repair my BBQ myself which is completely unsafe. Overall there was absolutely nothing positive about the way this company conducts business and I would not recommend them for anyone trying to do a long distance move.

   Overcharged

   Do NOT use 2 Burley Men. We did and it was a disaster. We had agreed on 2 full size trucks and 4 experienced men. They sent 1 full size truck, 1 small truck, that the movers told us was not road worthy for our 75 km move, and took more than twice as long as it should have! Then they charged for all the extra time due to the small truck and inexperienced boys. The boys that were here told us they had no experience. We paid at the end of a very long and traumatizing move, sure that it would get straightened out in the following days. We should have only paid the quoted amount and left it to them to sue us. The office staff at 2 Burley Men fully denied any overcharge and denied sending a small truck that was not road worthy. They lied about the whole thing. They are not a member of the Better Business Bureau. I tried that first, and then saw how they lied. If 2 Burley Men try to get you to pay much more than your quote, DON'T! We payed twice what the quote was, (shouldn't have) and then used the Civil Rights Tribunal process to get a full and fair refund, so we ended up paying the quoted amount. The Better Business Bureau and the Civil Rights Tribunal are time consuming, but SO worth it! Of course in hind sight, we should never have paid in full. I urge everyone to never use them to move and if you know of anyone that has been victim of overcharge, please use the Civil Rights Tribunal.

    Worst move ever

    The worst movers I could have ever imagined. They showed up in my tiny strata parking lot with an 8 ton truck that didn’t fit. They forgot to bring packing boxes. One of the movers appeared to be high. He could barely stand up until approx 2pm. He peed in my toilets without flushing, then walked around my townhouse with his ear buds in. The list of damaged items is too long to include here. And they simply are not accountable or apologetic for any damage they cause. I spoke to 2 different men from the office who yelled at me over the phone. The entire move was a gong show. I will carry each household item, one by one, to my next home before I would give these guys one red cent again.
