   Quebec to Ontario move

   First off, the actual movers (3 guys) were polite, hard workers but inexperienced. Prior to the November 23 move, in October 2023 I spent a few hours on the phone with the company going room by room in my 3 bedrooms bungalow in Quebec, and also outside and through the shed to list all my furniture and approximate number of boxes. Truck arrived on the day at least 4 hours later than was arranged so moving all the stuff was done at night, until close to midnight. Turned out the truck they had was too small and we had to leave a lot behind, stored in the new owners shed (thankfully they were super cool about it). The movers did not use blanket to wrap or strap to move the appliances and those got dents and large scratches, and at one point they dropped the fridge on the back door of the house, which left a pretty deep long dent as well. I had paid $300 for 2 "TV packs" which turned out to be cardboard put over the front and back of the TVs with shrink wrap - thankfully no damage to the TVs but $300 for cardboard? Could have done it myself, as I had carefully protected and wrapped all the mirrors, paintings and fragile items already. Delivery in Ontario was with 2 guys only; got scratches on the freshly varnished wood floor - no protection was used by the movers. The pickup and delivery of items left behind in Quebec was done 3 weeks later for an extra $500; I had already paid $6500 and I was not pleased about that considering the mistake was theirs in the first place for using the wrong truck size, but they would not deliver my furniture otherwise so, kind of no choice there...Moving is always super stressful; last thing you need is any kind of issue. Hope this review helps save someone extra aggravation :)

   Extremely unprofessional, likely understaffed, avoid at all costs

   Whatever you do, do NOT use this service. They are NOT registered with the BBB or the Canadian Movers Association, and it's no surprise given their lack of professionalism and accountability. This is not a business - it's a scam. Our experience with 401 Movers was absolutely unacceptable. From start to finish, they failed to deliver the service we paid for. They repeatedly missed pickup and delivery dates, provided no proactive communication, and only responded after we repeatedly called and emailed. On delivery day, our belongings arrived several days late in the evening, leaving us without furniture, clothing, or essentials for multiple days while caring for pets. The movers who finally arrived were clearly untrained — mishandling items, ignoring instructions, and creating unsafe situations (including one worker bleeding in our home, which we were left to clean). We were promised escalation to management after repeated complaints, but no one ever followed up. The company appears to be extremely small, possibly only one or two people handling everything, and there is no accountability or professional structure in place. Based on our experience, we strongly caution anyone considering this company — the stress, repeated delays, and unprofessional behaviour were far beyond what any reasonable customer should endure. Trust me - go elsewhere.

   A Total Scam Company-Long Distance Move

   I used this company to move my things from Ontario without issue and booked them again to move back to Ontario. First off the price was 100.00 more. I booked the move a month or more in advance and paid the required deposit. I kept asking for a confirmed time and did not get one until 2 days before. Finally they confirmed my time for pick up. The next day I received an email that their trucks were grounded for inspection and they could return my deposit and maybe pick up my things a week later. They also said they were trying to rent a truck to accommodate all moves on the day of my move. I received no email that they won’t be coming. In fact they stopped responding. I had to rent a U-Haul and move my belongings to a storage in Quebec for moving in order to get on my train to Ontario. Never use this mover because they are less expensive to long distance move, or any move.They just didn’t want to come and have no professional ethics. Inspections are done by appointment. I am reporting them to the better business bureau. I also did not get my deposit back.

   stay away!

   My daughter booked these movers from montreal to kingston. We paid the deposit, she took the day off. They changed terms more than once (first said same day delivery of goods, then changed their minds, said 5 days later). She accommodated and took another day off work (not easy as a student saving for grad school). They then reached out saying she had to pay upfront before delivery (which is clearly fucking fishy, and not industry standard). When we replied and said cash on delivery and we would be there with the cash upon delivery plus a tip they stopped responding, and didn't show up day of. We then paid last minute fees for a u-haul and she and her partner moved everything themselves, which cost as much as having professional movers (ie not 401 movers), while doing all the work ourselves. Horrible company at best, total scammers at worst.

   Very bad service - Stay away

   Very awful experience with this company. I had few properties to move, spoke to admin and fixed time for 2:45pm. They came 2 Hours at 4:30 Pm and was not apologetic whatsoever. Again, the guys that came asked for additional money for them to take the same properties that had already been agreed, they refused to offload until the balance was paid. I called their number same day and they never took the call. Later i connected with them and they expressed no atom of remorse. I honestly advise you to stay far away from these guys, they are not professional in any way, save your money please!!!!

   Bad Experience With Movers + Worse Experience with the organisation

   The move team seem to be contracted. They seem not to be working with the 401 team. The team would not offload until they get paid in full. While I let them know I already made a down payment, they asked me to get a refund instead of me paying the balance Called Justine and she said thats how they run their show. I paid the move team in full and I haven't gotten my deposit back in 3 weeks. They don't respond to emails, phones (416-729-0656 or 416-729-4656). Spoke to a lady by the name Trish (I hope I am right). No empathy or acknowledgment of the problem or going above and beyond to try to resolve the issue. I will advise you find another mover to provide you excellent service as you wont get it with these jokers!

   WORST EXPEREINCE & SCAMMERS

   I had the worst experience with this company. I paid a deposit for their services,booked the move from Montreal to Toronto , organized my schedule around it , paid for elevator reservation in my condo building only to have them cancel at the last minute. Fine, things happen, but it’s been over a WEEK now, and I’m still chasing them down to get my deposit back!. Absolutely unprofessional and dishonest. I feel totally scammed. Do not trust them with your money! It’s clear they have no respect for their customers. Stay far away if you don’t want to lose your money. I am definitely going to file a complaint with OPC and my bank . If I could give 0 stars I would.

   Damaged furniture. Poor customer service.

   My belongings were not treated with care. I have large guages in my mid-century dining room table. The movers never even took the legs off. Oher pieces are scraped. The woman in the office performed so poorly, her boss had to apologize profusely. Stay away from 401 Movers, or your furniture is at risk and you may be threatened with your belongings not being delivered on time, or put in storage. There was a misunderstanding about payment and I felt as if I was being treated like a criminal. T.E.J.Salo

   Trauma

   I was quoted a firm price and AFTER my belongings were on the truck, I was told that I had to pay $1200 more. They showed up late in the day. Fortunately I was able to scrounge the money to pay them - the fellow on the phone tried to talk me into paying cash - it was too late in the day for me to go to a bank. Several of my items were damaged. I’m just glad it was over and I narrowly escaped without having my belongings being held hostage.

    They Scammed me

    I had to get the police involved because owner threatened my life and in the end paid almost double the quoted price. The movers were completely untrained resulting in damaged walls and furniture. It has been 45 days that I’ve been waiting for them to make things right but it is very evident that they are only in it for the money, not the satisfaction of the customers. I would highly recommend this company, but only to my worst enemies.
