    SCAM - CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT

My name is Joshua I. I have also experienced the wrong doings by American Long Distance Moving and Storage, starkly parallel to others experiences. It would be redundant of me to explain the same story others have had. Furthermore, If you're seeking resolution to the financial implications/emotional distress imposed by American Long Distance Moving and Storage, then contact me @ joshuaImholte@ GMAIL dot com. I have been in correspondence with multiple U.S Departments and Attorney Generals, and will be moving forward with a Class-Action Lawsuit. Thank you,

    Scam

Please stay away from this scam. We experienced a typical bait-and switch scenario. The price was more than tripled ($2600 to $8700) from the initial quote and services were delayed and storage was not rendered. Items were damaged and one item is missing. No answer back as of today. Plus additional cost of $275 we had to pay to our home buyers to extend our stay for the delay. Picture shows how our items were delivered.

    Buyer Beware!

The price quadrupled on moving day to 20K! Do not use these scammers! Jordan D told me everything I wanted to hear and none of it was true. No veterans involved, only a whack-job witchy lady who screamed at me that I was harassing her when she raised the price and knew I had no alternative. It took over a month to get my stuff from the west coast to the midwest and not everything was there. DO NOT USE!!!

    Rip off Company.

This company is a Rip off .Paid this Company 1819.29 down to move me to Texas.Told me to pay 910.00 at pick up and 910.00 at delivery. And then came back and asked me for 500.00 more dollars. When the truck got there 4hours late.they told me that i could not take my bed .ends tables ,75 inch TV or dresser that it would be extra .The TV would be 200.00 ,dresser extra. And did not look at my other stuff.Tried to pull up the list that i had gave the broker to show the driver the list had been deleted.Drive started talking loud and disrespectful son asked him not to talk to my mother like that drive got mad and left.So if you don't want to get ripped off don't use this company. Deleted my list of of items i gave them.

    TERRIBLE "company" disgusting scammers

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Absolute joke of a "company". Do NOT use them. Scammers. The sales person was never heard from again after we paid the first installment. Got a call 3 days before the move asking about our "estimated" pick up day. We were never told it was estimated, we were told it was a SOLID pick up day. Also asked for MORE money 3 days before the move. Disgusting. I don't know how these people sleep at night. We ended up cancelling because we did not want to risk them not showing up on our designated move out day (we live in an apartment and had to be out by the 30th), rented a uhaul and drove our stuff to our new home by ourselves! Called them to tell them how horrible this was and they hung up on us. So gross, please please spend your money elsewhere. Read the reviews and do not give them any of your money.

    Snakes who will say anything

This company is so unprofessional and irresponsible, where do I begin? There were 3 payments. I made the first, largest payment to the broker which does not actually provide any services: American Long Distance Moving and Storage. I told American my contract dates with a 3 day window wouldn’t work, because my lease would be up. The sleazy rep flat out lied to me, said the date had to be written that way ‘for legal reasons’ but swore up and down the pickup would be on my requested date. The subcontractor J&D Moving was late on both ends, both the pickup and delivery. J&D Moving was 3 days late on the pickup. After days 1, 2 and 3 went by and I was constantly promised the pickup would be that day or the next, I entered into a chaotic hell of constant unpacking and repacking as I had to get stuff I needed already packed in the car, then packing again always hoping to go. This became the most surreally stressful period of my life, explaining and apologizing to the apartment manager for not leaving when my lease ended, wondering whether I should cancel my Air BnB at my destination, and came this close to being evicted and having all my possessions thrown on the street after I’d already paid moving expenses!! After day 3, I couldn’t delay my trip from Phoenix to San Diego any longer and had to leave in the evening instead of a morning start when I was fresh, as I’d planned. This was not only inconvenient but downright dangerous, making a long drive on treacherous steep curvy mountain roads at night when I was tired after working all day, or at least trying to work at home as best I could on the phone, without wifi after I had to return the cable box. The only reason J&D Moving were not 4 days late instead of 3 days, is that I paid a friend last minute to help their driver pack the van. The driver didn't call me until evening day 4, and told me he was unexpectedly alone and would have to reschedule. I also had expenses of at least 2 days missed work, I had to pay extra rent, and I couldn't get a refund for the Air B&B I'd already paid for as I remained stuck waiting for them. J&D Moving was a no-show for the original delivery date. They did not email me until after the fact, that they were not able to fit my possessions in their truck the night before. I had already had to spend like an hour before the scheduled time putting away an airbed and other temporary arrangements, to make room for them, and basically they killed my Sunday. They already knew they couldn’t come the day before, and didn’t bother to let me know; they could have at least picked up the phone that morning, especially since they emphasized to me to be available by phone for the delivery people. There is just no excuse, sooooo inconsiderate. From that date, they were completely incommunicado until after 2 weeks from the date I originally contacted them to request delivery. I counted one day; I tried to call 10 times, and I tried each extension and left messages. No one responded to emails either. I called and emailed every day for a while. I got no voicemail, email or text. I know they must have blocked my number because eventually my mother was able to call them for me. Very unprofessional! They should have responded, even if just to say there was no update at that point. For all I knew, they went out of business due to Covid or some other reason. After they were a no-show and I could not reach anyone to reschedule, I had to stay in an air B&B another 11 nights. When they finally delivered, they gave me zero notice in spite of their previous promises the driver would call on the way, and that I would be notified before the day before. I simply got a call on my lunch break, and the driver told me he was at my home already. I had to apologize at my new job. For God’s sake, what if I were a surgeon, or teacher or something? A lot of people have no flexibility to just leave like that; some people aren’t even allowed to bring cell phones into work. They lost a lamp, a $100 pair of dance shoes, a record player, a medical foot treatment machine, and my entire set of scarves. They did bring me someone else's shelf and lampshade. In the 15 days it took them to deliver from the time I contacted them, most of that time them being completely unreachable, I could have bought all new furniture and possessions and gotten comfortable 10 times over. I estimate the expenses they caused me directly cost more than the sum total of all 3 payments I made for moving, between travel delays and lost possessions. Most likely I will never again use a long-distance moving company. This was such a terrible experience, I considered many times abandoning my stuff and just telling them to screw themselves. I might have, except that that my photo albums of sentimental value were there; I started wishing I’d packed those in the car. Bottom line: do not trust these people with your valuable items, whether sentimental or expensive/rare. Just don’t trust them at all.

Upcharges, poor communication, and NO DELIVERY!

STAY AWAY! We have been waiting a month for our items after being up charged upon pick up. Our items were not inventoried at pick, but we luckily have pictures and written proof. We have video footage from the storage facility. Our items still have not been delivered after a month. Poor communication and the company has breeched the contract according to our lawyer. We are just trying to get our items at the price we agreed to.

    DO NOT use this company!!

The 1st sales guy sounded nice and honest so I took a chance. Wrong thing to do!!! I sent him pic's of all stuff in one spot ready to move so I had a pretty good idea of the cubic feet needed. The $1800 down payment came from my checking. Bad decision! They're holding my money hostage. I was uncomfortable with the limited summary of contents he listed within the bill. I sent the sales rep a detailed contents list along with the ACTUAL weight a along with an added table and bench a week later (I bought an industrial scale). He said the estimate would change but would not know until 24 hours before the scheduled pick up date. (I gave him the list 2 weeks before the move). The move went up approximately $2300 so I wanted to cancel. He said they would keep my $1800 down unless I provided another $1200 down that must be wired, I was on the hook and desperate to be moved as scheduled on 10/27. I went against my instincts and sent it. 10/27, 10/28, 10/29. No movers. No calls. I called them many times. Contract in email disappears online saying "congratulation on your move" My next agent told me the truck had broken down and I wanted a copy of the email regarding the bad truck. She would not comply. Wanted me to sign a new contract with new moving date. Didn't want to do it but did anyway because I was on the hook. New moving date of Monday Nov 1st 2021. No calls, No movers. What a scam!!! Nothing but corrupt liars. Now I'm stuck filing complaints with the FMCSA, writing a review and filing a claim in small claims court. Is there an attorney filing a class action against this company? I want in!

    DO NOT HIRE

Would NOT recommend hiring this company. A family member of mine booked this company and they showed up A WHOLE DAY LATE. Not only that, they had approved the amount of items for moving before arrival, but upon finally showing up, they demanded the cost to move the items be doubled!!!! They left my family high and dry and did not give back the first two deposits. A waste of time and money. Would rate zero stars if possible.

    A terrible moving company

Do not use American Long Distance Moving! They will give you a quote and when they pick up your things they will load about half of your worldly possessions, stop loading and claim that they've exceeded the square feet in the truck you've paid for. And there you are, leave your half of possessions or pay thousands extra. They lied about the square footage we used but we were committed by then and had to move. It's an effective scam. They implied our furniture would get to their destination(about a thousand miles away) in about a week. It took over three weeks. At one point, when we called, they said our stuff was in storage waiting to go west, but if we paid them an additional $5,000 they'd deliver it all right away! Our stuff was being held hostage! In the end, our things showed up late and so many objects were broken. A carefully-packed antique clock with "fragile" written all over the box, dishes, an antique chair, even the lawnmower! All broken and of course they're not going to compensate us for anything. Avoid these terrible movers!
