   Untrustworthy

   This company is so unprofessional and irresponsible, where do I begin? There were 3 payments. I made the first, largest payment to the broker they are associated with, American Long Distance Moving and Storage, which deserves their own separate blast. I told American my contract dates with a 3 day window wouldn’t work, because my lease would be up. The sleazy rep flat out lied to me, said the date had to be written that way ‘for legal reasons’ but swore up and down the pickup would be on my requested date. J&D Moving was late on both ends, both the pickup and delivery. J&D Moving was 3 days late on the pickup. After days 1, 2 and 3 went by and I was constantly promised the pickup would be that day or the next, I entered into a chaotic hell of constant unpacking and repacking as I had to get stuff I needed already packed in the car, then packing again always hoping to go. This became the most surreally stressful period of my life, explaining and apologizing to the apartment manager for not leaving when my lease ended, wondering whether I should cancel my Air BnB at my destination, and came this close to being evicted and having all my possessions thrown on the street after I’d already paid moving expenses!! After day 3, I couldn’t delay my trip from Phoenix to San Diego any longer and had to leave in the evening instead of a morning start when I was fresh, as I’d planned. This was not only inconvenient but downright dangerous, making a long drive on treacherous steep curvy mountain roads at night when I was tired after working all day, or at least trying to work at home as best I could on the phone, without wifi after I had to return the cable box. The only reason J&D Moving were not 4 days late instead of 3 days, is that I paid a friend last minute to help their driver pack the van. The driver didn't call me until evening day 4, and told me he was unexpectedly alone and would have to reschedule. I also had expenses of at least 2 days missed work, I had to pay extra rent, and I couldn't get a refund for the Air B&B I'd already paid for as I remained stuck waiting for them. J&D Moving was a no-show for the original delivery date. They did not email me until after the fact, that they were not able to fit my possessions in their truck the night before. I had already had to spend like an hour before the scheduled time putting away an airbed and other temporary arrangements, to make room for them, and basically they killed my Sunday. They already knew they couldn’t come the day before, and didn’t bother to let me know; they could have at least picked up the phone that morning, especially since they emphasized to me to be available by phone for the delivery people. There is just no excuse, sooooo inconsiderate. From that date, they were completely incommunicado until after 2 weeks from the date I originally contacted them to request delivery. I counted one day; I tried to call 10 times, and I tried each extension and left messages. No one responded to emails either. I called and emailed every day for a while. I got no voicemail, email or text. I know they must have blocked my number because eventually my mother was able to call them for me. Very unprofessional! They should have responded, even if just to say there was no update at that point. For all I knew, they went out of business due to Covid or some other reason. After they were a no-show and I could not reach anyone to reschedule, I had to stay in an air B&B another 11 nights. When they finally delivered, they gave me zero notice in spite of their previous promises the driver would call on the way, and that I would be notified before the day before. I simply got a call on my lunch break, and the driver told me he was at my home already. I had to apologize at my new job. For God’s sake, what if I were a surgeon, or teacher or something? A lot of people have no flexibility to just leave like that; some people aren’t even allowed to bring cell phones into work. They lost a lamp, a $100 pair of dance shoes, a record player, a medical foot treatment machine, and my entire set of scarves. They did bring me someone else's shelf and lampshade. In the 15 days it took them to deliver from the time I contacted them, most of that time them being completely unreachable, I could have bought all new furniture and possessions and gotten comfortable 10 times over. I estimate the expenses they caused me directly cost more than the sum total of all 3 payments I made for moving, between travel delays and lost possessions. Most likely I will never again use a long-distance moving company. This was such a terrible experience, I considered many times abandoning my stuff and just telling them to screw themselves. I might have, except that that my photo albums of sentimental value were there; I started wishing I’d packed those in the car. Bottom line: do not trust these people with your valuable items, whether sentimental or expensive/rare. Just don’t trust them at all.

   Unbelievably Bad. Must Be A Prank!

   Literally everything about this place is a nightmare. Want to talk to someone? You will have to call between 10-30 times before someone picks up. A massive change happens to your delivery? They won't tell you. You have to call when they just don't show up and ask for updates, which will take hours to get someone on the line. We were originally told delivery on the 1st. Great. Never heard anything, so a day or two before I call. After half a day of calls they tell me it is now the 2nd or 3rd. Ok fine. The third comes, never hear back, so spend half a day calling them. Now it's the 5th or 6th... This repeats over and over, never hearing anything, always having to call a dozen times to hear back from someone, always bumping my date back. Finally on the 11th they tell me that a driver is driving to the warehouse right now to pick it up, and will deliver on the 13th or 14th. I called 27 times over 8 hours on the 12th, and left a voicemail, and never heard back. I called multiple times on the 13th and was told he didn't take it after all, but someone is coming on the 14th to take it. I think we all know how this is going to go tomorrow. I will call 10-20 times to see if it was picked up, it won't have been, and we will keep repeating this cycle until the end of time. They have had my belongings for 5 weeks now, and just can't seem to do their ONE job.

   The most unprofessional, pieces of garbage on Earth. They are thieves and wil break everything you own. They will hold your belongings for months and will never return your calls. They are cowards, criminals, and low life's. Can only hope that they are stopped soon, or wait in anticipation for the one time, and it will happen, that they do this to the wrong people. Karma is waiting for these guys.

   Horrible experience many broken scratched and damaged expensive furniture and irreplaceable items!!! Unable to reach them for compensation. We were told the furniture would be delivered on a certain day they finally called for delivery 12 days later with only 1 person to unload. My husband and brother in law had to assist!!! No compensation for anything.

   Horrible experience

   DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use this company to move you. I had several antique and vintage items that I had them move, every piece except one was damaged, the mirror of an antique vanity was broken off and I told them to remove the mirror, they did not and he said ”I thought it would be okay.” A Vintage coffee table had two legs broken off, two shelves are missing from an antique secretary, our dining room table legs are missing and EVERy piece of furniture except one has nicks, scratches, dings, gouges, cracks and scrapes including my antique piano and an antique tall chest of drawers. They lost some of the hardware on two chests and I’m still not sure if I got all my boxes, not done unpacking yet. Also two fragile glass items they packed were broken, packed underneath heavier glass items!!! No knowledge of how to pack for a move!!! It will cost Tens of thousands to replace, repair and restore my damaged furniture and the company has only answered one phone call! I have called many many times! Never received a return call. I am still waiting to hear from their insurance company it has been about 60 days since I finished filing the claim! And to top it all off they gave me two boxes of someone else’s belongings!!!! They won’t answer or return my calls regarding this or any other reason I call! You would think they would like to help someone they moved restore their belongings! Also they loaded boxes of items we had packed that we were going to take ourselves rather than packing things I had contracted for them to pack and take!!! Lazy!!! They just didn’t care!!!!! Also they have no knowledge of how to move a piano!!!! We had to help them on both ends and they very nearly destroyed it in the process. Very, very unhappy with this company!!!!!! In addition they tried to leave an hour after they arrived saying they had to deliver what was already in their truck, to a place that was 5 hours away one way and said they would come back later! I said No! TheY said the company would send another truck in 4 hours!!!! I called and complained and the first truck came back, but very unprofessional!!!!! Nothing good about this company!!!Run away from them as fast as you can!!!!!!

   If only I could give them no stars. This company damaged our belongings because they don't take the care to properly prepare items to be moved on a truck, taken off, driven over 1,000 miles and then taken off a truck. They sent ONE guy to deliver the furniture which meant WE HAD TO HELP UNLOAD THE TRUCK THAT WE WERE PAYING FOR SOMEBODY ELSE TO DO!! They damaged our desk, stand up desk, head board, foot board, dresser, and treadmill. We took up less room then estimated. We were told no refund because we reserved that much space on the truck. BUT OUR STUFF WAS NOT TRANSPORTED BY THE SAME TRUCK THAT WAS LOADED SO THIS LAME REASON MAKES NO SENSE. Their website is a lie. They do not take the care to properly pack your belongings. Terrible experience. Save your money. Rent your own truck.

   Horrible move

   Do not, under any circumstances, use J&D Moving for your move. They care absolutely nothing about their clients or their client’s belongings. They held our belongings for 62 days, all the while telling me they would be delivered in “5 to 7 days” or “7 to 10 days”. They told me that 4 or 5 times. They rarely answered my calls and never called back after I left messages. When the truck finally showed up and backed in the driveway, there was a mattress strapped to the back of the truck. The plastic was torn and the mattress was soaked. Fortunately, it wasn’t ours. When they opened up the truck, there were 2 beds, mattresses and all, and a dresser and some other cabinet, all of which wasn’t even ours. When we got to our things, it was obvious that things were thrown into the truck with no regard for protecting them from damage. Our beautiful antique school desk was destroyed, along with many other miscellaneous things damaged. But the worst part was all the things that were missing. A full bed with a twin trundle bed pullout underneath—all missing! A 6 ft stepladder, industrial handtruck, miter saw, and (2) 40 qt coolers, all missing. I don’t know that I’ve ever had dealings with a more unprofessional, uncaring, dishonest company in my life.

   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

   I would do zero stars if i could. Worst company, no communication. They hold your stuff hostage in a warehouse and take weeks upon weeks to get your stuff. I have waited over a month and every week they say it will be this week. Each week comes and go with no communication from them. I have had to call every week sometimes multiple times just to find out my stuff is not being delivered. They loaded onto a trailer then unloaded into a warehouse. Worst Logistics ever. DO NOT USE THEM or a brokerage firm that uses them. They picked up our stuff July 5th and it is now August 2nd with no end in sight. You will end up paying way more just for food, dishes, etc to live without your stuff then if you higher a better company! I feel bad for the drivers that contract with this company as well because they don't offer then any support, make 2 guys who just drove long hours load the truck and then they show up at houses to livid people because the company has had their personal belongings for so long. Based on the reviews that I am just now seeing, i will likely have broken items and boxes that have been opened. I wish i would have seen these previously.

   This company was hired through a broker in FL. They showed up on the date promised and did a great job of packing and loading my household goods. I was told at the time that my goods would be delivered in 5 days. HOWEVER, they have now had my goods for nearly six (6) weeks. I am almost 80 years old with a heart condition that does not tolerate stress well. Let me tell you, I am now stressed to the max. I'm afraid I will have a heart attack over this. We are sleeping on the floor. Our clothes are in the load being held by J&D. We have no furniture, no dishes, no kitchen utensils, no tools. We have basically nothing. We are great grandparents. All our family photos and momentos are being held. Our lives are being held captive by J&D moving. I have called MANY, MANY times to inquire about delivery. I have now been promised 6 different delivery dates. NOTHING! I have literally BEGGED AND PLEADED with these people to bring me my stuff. I offered to pay extra if they would just deliver my goods. All for NOTHING. I guess our lives are being held hostage, but no demands have been made. ALL I WANT IS MY STUFF. Surely there is some government agency that investigates this kind of thing. My wife believes that our belongings have been stolen and wants to file a police theft report. I (for some unknown reason) keep clinging to hope, but I am running out of it. This is the first time I have ever reviewed a company. I'm not a complainer. I'm just an old, retired guy who is being screwed over by J&D. However, I am also a fair and reasonable person who would write a better review if J&D were to deliver my goods in the condition they were loaded in Tehachapi, and provide a plausible explanation for the delay. At this point I would give zero stars, but the system does not permit that. That could change for the better if I experience a good final outcome.

    Owner of this company is a coward and a crook

    I do not typically take the time to write reviews unless something is really bad or really great. This experience was one of the worst of my life and I still haven't received a courtesy call from the owner (requested multiple times). Moved from Arizona to Colorado (3000 sq ft house) and they sent two guys to pack the entire house and load the truck. Needless to say, we ended up packing the house and ended up paying for a service we never received. I discussed this with their customer service department the same day and told them to make it right on the drop off. Provide more movers and unpack my stuff and we will be good. Guess who showed up with our stuff and two guys to unload the truck? Guess who was their third worker for twelve hours so they could finish in a timely manner??? They should have paid me. I have left multiple messages to discuss this with their owner who refuses to call me back and discuss it. Complete coward. I don't know how you sleep at night with the way you treat people.
