I do not write reviews. But if any person reads this and chooses not to go with Van Lines of America, then I will at least feel somewhat better about my experience. Everything is great during the quoting process. They promise they only use their movers and that it's a consistent team, etc. Should have realized when they showed up, one guy short, several hours late, that this was going to be awful. They proceeded to load the truck. By the time they finished, it was close to 9 pm and the foreman called me over and said that I was over the estimate and that they could either charge me an additional $7k, or I could pay him $4k to his personal account and that he would take the overage down to a small amount over the estimate. All of my belongings (I thought) were on the truck and it was 9 pm and I was leaving the next day. What was going to happen if I refused now that they had all my stuff? Well, I'm not sure whatever would have happened would actually have been worse, because I went out front to discover that several things were not on the truck and left in the driveway (including my Peloton). They were on their way and I was left scrambling to find a friend who would let me store some items. Fast forward to delivery day, late in the day, and they showed up in an 18 wheeler that refused to pull up on my street. Why isn't this discussed at the time of estimate?! I live on a pretty normal street. This meant I could either be charged storage until they got another shuttle truck, or I could go rent a uhaul and they could load it in a church parking lot with a couple trips. I opted for the uHaul since it's not that much stuff. As they began unloading, and I was speaking with them, again it was clear these are not Van Lines employees, but contracted employees. I was noticing more and more broken or damaged things. I received things that belonged to other people (Van Lines never offered to come get them or have them shipped). They had to go back and search the truck for my TV which had been marked with someone else's name. Large plastic totes from Home Depot where shattered, with all the items inside broken. Items are missing (a/c unit, my bed, etc). It doesn't end there. They left late in the evening, and I filed a claim the next week. I was told they would adjust within the allotted 120 days. Between the extortion and damage, this was so egregious I contacted the BBB because no one answers the phone at Van Lines so figured it would get some replies. I received the snidest, most unprofessional responses via the BBB platform. I then received an email from their Claim administrator that they canceled their contract and they were no longer adjusting the claims. So I contacted the insurance carrier directly. Eventually I received another email from the claims provider that they re-instated the contract and would continue with the claim. No other correspondence followed until I just received a settlement offer of $116 to cover thousands of damage and missing items, not to mention extortion from their "employees".. Long story short, this is a garbage company, run by garbage people who will treat your belongings like garbage. I can only hope some other company treats each and every one of those criminals as they have treated me and others.

The company is the worst!
Dealing with the one and only Sherry, the customer service is about the worst. Wouldn’t let me talk to a manager. Sherry also lied about the price. They charged us $300 more as ransom to get our car back. Sherry lying all the time telling us that it was a verbal agreement. That’s a lie. After finding out from the transporter, the price increase, Sherry did not answer her phone all afternoon. Very disappointed. Go somewhere else. The price she quoted wasn’t the price we’re paying.

Terrible and Expensive SCAM
Expensive, stressful experience from a terrible moving company with a scam insurance policy. We hired Van Lines of America for a move in September 2021. Despite getting a detailed quote for us, they arrived unprepared with an undersized truck and insufficient furniture protection to complete their “White glove Treatment” (which we paid an extra $800 for). We received no communications, no updates, and were constantly sent to voicemail when we called. Through multiple truck/warehouse transfers, they lost, damaged, and could not account for multiple pieces of furniture and items (sofa, office chairs, broken china, and missing boxes). After a couple months they randomly delivered the sofa and the piano- damaged; still not accounting for all of the other missing items! We were charged an extra $850 to a random third party for a destination fee – holding our items hostage at 7pm (a haphazard unloading that extended till 1am). Again, their lack of communication and logistical planning caused confusion because we were not told who the payment should be made out to – causing a last minute Zelle transfer that exceed our bank limit, so we had to do a second emergency Zelle transfer from our son’s account. We immediately filed our claim and waited the requisite 120 days for their third party settlement company (CSI Insurance(?)) to processes our claim. Only to find out that they will no longer be dealing with it and we have no way of moving forward, as once again, we never get a response from Van Lines of America. We are now pursuing legal action because of the ~$3,000 of damaged and missing items. Do not trust this unethical company with their scam insurance policy with your furniture.

They don't deliver things on time and are hard to talk to
When they tell you they will deliver the items they helped you pack in 3-5 days they lie. It's been 10 days so far and it took multiple calls to get them on the phone and then they use an excuse about your stuff arriving in multiple trucks and they're still trying to put it together and they don't know when they'll get your stuff to you. If you want your stuff delivered reliably and on time with accurate tracking, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

STAY AWAY!!!!! SCAMMING MOVING COMPANY
STAY AWAY!!!!!!! Let me start my saying this company is TRASH and a SCAM!!!!!! STAY AWAY BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!! I gave a deposit and was scheduled to have my belongings pick up on the 28th then got a call less than 24 hours later stating one of the guys got into a car accident and had to reschedule for next day……Next day came along, I was preparing for them to pick up my belongings and once again I got a call 30mins prior to my schedule time stating “the truck is having mechanical issues” and was told they would have to reschedule 2/3 days after. At this time, I’m outraged. They were supposed to call me back for a solution, NEVER got a call back. I called multiple times both Apex and Van lines of America and left VMs still no call back answer. The next day, I called back with still no answer. PLEASEEEE, do me and yourself a favor and do not go with this company. They are not liable and with very poor communication skills and UNPROFESSIONAL. NOW I have to call my bank to get my deposit back as they did not provide me the service. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!’

Unethical and Criminals
Company misrepresented cost to store items for 30 days then agreed to pay 1/2 of overcharge and deliver furniture if I paid and signed a release waiver of any current and FUTURE complaints. Once I did so, they opened the truck and had stolen my leather couch, Master bedroom dresser and 2 rugs. They obviously knew this which is why they wanted a release signed. I have hired an attorney and think there should be a class action suit. Driver told me himself that EVERY delivery he has made in 3 months of working for company has had items missing!! They are criminals.

Any positive reviews on here are fake. I have been waiting for my things for almost a month now. This company that’s registered under Anum Athar is a fake and does not deliver based on their promises, the supervisor, Greg is being paid to lie to us. PLEASE BE AWARE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE THE REAL ONES. I’m now having to use a lawyer to deal with these fools. They hire the low of the lows to lie to us as customers. I already reported them to FTC, the more complaints they receive, the quicker they will take action to put this company out of Business. Please report them to FTC, to put them out of Business. They are crooks. DON’T USE THIS COMPANY UMDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

THE WORST
If I could give a zero I would. This is the most unethical business I've ever dealt with. I would like to recap the problems that we had with this company. When Van Lines of America showed up to move us on Saturday 5/27 in Atlanta, they were without a person who never showed up. It took them over 6 hours to pack a 720 Square apartment. When I called the company to question why they didn't send someone to replace them, they called the movers and complained, who then confronted me, asking if I had a problem with them. I explained that my problem wasn't with them personally, but with the fact that they charged me an extra $350(they later took $100 off) because my loading dock was too far, according to them, from the freight elevator. When I questioned them, the movers had the audacity to ask me why I didn't read the contract. Really? You're the movers. That isn't your role to question. Although they are correct that it is in the contract, one often depends on their sales people, in this case Kyla Robinson to explain those things to you. The movers were rude and terrible packers, despite the fact that I even went and bought them lunch. They left many things out, and when I asked them, they tried to tell me that those things were never there? Really? Well where were they. They grabbed up those things and didn't even put them in a box. They just put them on the truck. I guess I stupidly believed they would make it. I was missing all of my exercise equipment (dumbbell, bands, ab wheel), as well as things from my kitchen and bathroom. From the very beginning, I could not get a delivery date. I understand that they may not be able to give me an exact day. However, they wouldn't give me a date range. And because I live in a highrise, I must reserve a date with a 3 hour window in order to use the freight elevator and loading dock. They called me on 4/1 to tell me it would be delivered on 4/2. They gave me less than 24 hours notice. I scrambled with my apartment people to reserve a date. When my stuff was delivered almost EVERYTHING I owned was damaged. The biggest damage was to my bed. Part of the headboard was completely broken off. My bookcase is in two parts, and both of them had deep gashes in them. A friend commented to me that the damage to my desk looked intentional, like somebody carved into it. The leg of my small little sofa table was completely ripped off. My desk was damaged, with the leg of the desk unstable. We noticed that it also had the standing leg of it ripped out. My chair had a deep gash on the leg. Everything I own was at least partially damaged. To make matters worse, this company had no respect for my belongings. They did not put my hanging clothes in a hanging wardrobe box. Instead they took my good suits, dress shirts, and other hanging clothes, waded them up in a ball, and threw them in a box. They took my drawer of sliverware and literally dumped it in a box. It was completely appalling. It took us hours to even get it out of the box, as it was mangled together. I had to buy new furniture, as it would not even be financially beneficial to try and repair it. When I told the company of this, they were completely callous and uncaring. I have posted this on Facebook, and nobody could believe it. People commented that they had never seen such damage from a moving company. I paid these people $3,600. They took my money willingly, and then completely showed a lack of respect for me and my belongings. I feel violated by this company. They should not be in this business. And I will do everything possible to make sure people know about them. Nobody should have to go through what I did with this company. Then, to top it all off, after destroying and showing a complete disregard for my belongings, this company gave me $222 in settlement because it is based on weight, and the price per pounds ensure they never really have to pay much out. This is completely outrageous. I had to pay nearly $10,000 to replace all my furniture.

Terrible Company
If I could give them negative stars I would. They are nothing more than expensive con-artists. They tell you they are A rated with the BBB, they are not. They are actually C rated. They are not actually accredited by the BBB either. They tell you anything to get you to sign, at the last minute they jack the price up, add new fees, etc. When you call them out on it they tell you, it was a miscommunication on their part, but will do nothing to make it right. Then once they have your stuff they, they hold it hostage until you do what they want. There is no communication from them at all, you have to call and hound them. They tell you it is their trucks and their employees, its not they showed up in a U-Haul, with one Van Lines employee and they rest day labors. They lie to you over and over, and when you call them out on it they tell you sorry it was a miscommunication on their part. They told me it would cost $9000 to move me from FL to NC, nope almost $14000. They said they price match nope, Two Men and a Truck quoted me $12000. They told me I could pay with credit card, nope demanded cash or the equivalent of. They are so worried about people disputing the charge. If they just did what they said they would, they would not have this problem. They broke items before they even got them loaded. They told me they would take my stuff to storage in NC, so it was ready when I was. Nope over 30 days later it is still FL. Each week it is being loaded and will be delivered to me, and each week no communication from them. I have to call them, only for them to tell sorry it will be the following week. No guarantees, no time frames, not even an apology. I had to call the Police before they would even let me talk to a real manager. I can go on and on. Lord knows what condition my stuff will be in by the time they finally deliver it. I WOULD ADVISE NOT USING THEM. You will be better off moving yourself. If you have or have had an issue I would strongly encourage you to file a report with the following, they will do nothing to resolve any issue that they cause. I will update once they finally deliver. BBB.org (which will do no good because they are not accredited) www.fmcsa.dot.gov (this is a government agency that monitors transportation companies)
