   Above and Beyond Service

   I was helping my elderly mother move into a senior living facility. The whole process was emotional for her. The movers were so gentle and compassionate with her and her belongings. They let her take her time and were so careful with her antique pieces.

   Well done

   I had to move equipment out of a retail shop the same day because things changed at the last minute. Weststar Relocation was able to come quickly and help. The team got straight to work and didn’t waste time. They followed what I asked and didn’t need to be told twice. All the stuff was out before closing, and the whole thing went better than I expected in that situation.

   Long distance move from California to Oklahoma

   Having served in the military for 30 years, my family and I have experienced plenty of difficult moves over the decades. We know what bad moves look like, even when the government goes to the lowest bidder. However, our recent experience with Weststar Relocations (sub-contracted through American Van Lines) was easily the worst move we have ever had in 30 years—and that is saying something. From start to finish, Weststar demonstrated a total disregard for us and our personal belongings: • Inadequate Equipment & Ignored Concerns: The crew showed up on day one with a truck too small for our household goods. When I pointed this out, the lead guy completely dismissed me. Unsurprisingly, everything didn't fit, and they had to return for a second day. • Zero Labeling & Misleading Inventory: They packed without labeling a single box or inventory sheet, creating a massive "scavenger hunt" during unpacking. When my husband questioned this, the lead guy condescendingly assured him the boxes were marked correctly, even claiming, "Dish packs come from the kitchen and hold dishes." We later opened "dish packs" to find an air compressor, garage equipment, books, and random items. • Extensive Damage & Loss: Due to their reckless packing, we ended up with over two full pages of damaged or missing items. And the joy of Hot Chocolate, Brown Sugar and sugar spread over several boxes. • Gross Unprofessionalism: At one point, I walked into the kitchen and caught the lead crew member eating my cereal directly out of the box with his hands! • Extortion & Payment Demands: While enroute to our new home in Oklahoma, WestStar called demanding $14,000.00 in cash, cashier's check, or money order before they would deliver—threatening to dump our belongings into storage if we didn't comply. Our original contract with American Van Lines specified credit card payment, but WestStar refused because they couldn't process transactions over $5,000 via credit card. • Rude Customer Support: After scrambling to secure the money to free our shipment, we lost contact with the driver. When I called WestStar for an update, the representative rudely asked me, "How do you even know the delivery is happening?" The Silver Lining: The team at American Van Lines was responsive and worked hard to help resolve their sub-contractor's mess. Additionally, the final delivery driver and unloading crew (who were not affiliated with WestStar) were courteous, pleasant, and professional. Bottom Line: If you are moving out of state, stay far away from WestStar Relocations. If you hire American Van Lines, ensure you explicitly request that WestStar Relocations does NOT touch your move.

The move was not booked directly with WestStar Relocation, and the terms, pricing, payment arrangements, and overall coordination of the move were established through American Van Lines. That distinction is important because several of the concerns raised in this review—including the contracted price, payment requirements, delivery arrangements, and communication regarding the shipment—are matters that need to be evaluated against the agreement between you and the company through which the move was booked. That said, we do not dismiss your concerns regarding the handling of your belongings or the experience you described. Any allegations involving damaged or missing items, packing procedures, labeling, or employee conduct should be addressed through the appropriate claims and customer-service channels so they can be properly documented and investigated. We are also glad to hear that American Van Lines and the final delivery crew were able to assist with resolving the situation and that your delivery was ultimately completed. Because this review concerns a shipment arranged through another moving company, we would welcome the opportunity to review the specific shipment records and determine which portions of the experience involved WestStar Relocation and which were handled by the contracting company or other parties. Our goal is always to provide professional service and handle customers' belongings with care. We believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect which company was contracted for the move and which responsibilities were handled by each party.

   Trust me this company is terrible !!

   The worst conversation I have ever had. promised me everything, but nothing came of it. They claimed to be more than a middleman while lying. When the expert movers arrived, they informed me that they had greatly overestimated the size of my possessions, which resulted in an increase in my fee. I was informed that if I canceled, my deposit would be forfeited.

   Useless

   This company is a waste of time and money. I plan to provide input whenever I can. The testimonies indicate that the ultimate cost would fluctuate significantly from the movers' initial estimate. The moving business charged me an additional $500 even though I provided all the dimensions and measured everything with a tape measure because this company failed to provide a price.

   To keep you locked into the payment plan, they purposefully under-quote you, delay your pickup, and then charge you thousands more. This data was provided to me by the outside company they hired to pick up my belongings. In fact, he claimed that they were underquoting him on purpose. The actual amount I had to pay was four or five times the first estimate. They also did not take any of my belongings or furniture from me and left everything exactly how it was. Not recommended

    Nightmare

    Bad company to run. I don't want to sound dramatic, but this company is the worst place I've ever worked. Everyone I've ever talked to who has worked for another company or who has heard tales about this one has made fun of it and expressed bewilderment at the things they've heard and the way it's run. Even though it has supposedly been running for over 3 years, it is administered by people who don't seem to care that much about its obvious flaws.
