   Excellent Moving Company

   I recently moved from Westchester to Wappingers Falls and from the first phone conversation I had with Kate, the sister of the brother & sister team who own and operate Your Hometown Mover, of New Paltz, NY, I felt comfortable and confident in my decision to use them for my move. Kate either answered my calls herself, or returned them if she was busy at the time of my call. She patiently answered my numerous questions and concerns regarding my move,and even when I felt I may have been annoying with all my calls she assured me I was not, and to feel free to call with anymore questions I may have . The morning of the move, due to an injury to one of the moving men , they were down a man. My morning move was rescheduled to a late afternoon move time. Several times throughout the day, Benny, the mover who was my contact person that day, called me several times to give me the status of their expected arrival time. It was a stressful afternoon for me, but his repeated calls and assurances that they would be at my apt. as soon as possible, and they he would make sure I was moved that day, did alleviate my stress. Once Benny, Frank, and George arrived they went right to work and quickly and efficiently loaded my belongings onto the truck, drove the roughly 1 hour to my new apt and proceeded to unload the truck placing everything where I asked it be placed. This was in addition to them having to unassembled and reassemble a queen bed, a large recliner, and a love seat with two recliners. They did this in one hour less than the original estimate time ,all the while being pleasant and personable. I was paying an hourly rate, so this saved me a considerable amount of money. I would highly recommend Your Hometown Movers, and if you are lucky enough to get a crew like Benny, Frank, and George you will not be sorry. Based on other reviews I've read about the crews who do the physical work for this company, I would imagine they are much like the crew I had and they also are a good representation of this company's work ethic.

He swiftly arranged our moving date, and his proactive approach was evident when he called a week prior to ensure everything was set. When Damian, Marco, and Shane arrived, their professionalism and thoughtfulness shone through. They even gave us a heads up 30 minutes before arrival, staying true to their estimated time frame. Their care and consideration extended beyond just moving boxes. They accommodated my mobility disability with compassion, allowing me to relax until the very end. They willingly assisted with additional tasks, even taking out the garbage without hesitation. Damian, Marco, and Shane truly went above and beyond, embodying the role of superheroes for my wife and me.    Best Movers in Beacon NY

   This moving company is the best in Beacon, NY for sure!! They have raving reviews all over the internet which is why I chose them over the other movers in Beacon. I went with the crew of 3 to move my 2 bedroom apt from Beacon to Albany. No damages and superior customer service throughout. Kate and Jenn were a dream to deal with and always kept me informed. I recommend you request Bobby, Peter and Matthew for your next move. Thanks again!!

   HORRIBLE NO STARS AT ALL

   Took our entire household contents and then didn't deliver for an entire month. Excuse after excuse...found out they take your contents off the truck, store it and then do other moving...and when they "get around to it" they put your stuff back on the truck and deliver, raise the prices and won't release your things until you pay this insane price. CROOKS! completely...ONE MONTH of excuses..truck broke down, not enough help...horrible...then my computer, due to being moved and banged around was completely damaged. Took no responsiblity. wanted a bank check without letting us know because they knew they were not ethical...HORRIBLE. Complete frauds. DO NOT USE.

   CONCERNING Experience/zero stars

   We chose a local company in New Paltz NY called Yourhometown Movers to support smaller local businesses. FORGET IT. Their business office was attentive and the moving workers for kind. However, that is where it ends. We waited ONE MONTH to receive our furniture, constant excuses, truck broke down, low on staff and more. Our items were removed from the truck, stored for three weeks so they could collect other people's money and then, they put things back on the truck a month later and gave us our things, promising discounts, never giving any, broken screen computer from handling and moving around, asked for a certified bank check once it arrived with the only discount and sign of "good intention" was taking the boxes (we bought 4) off the price. They never gave us the GPS stated on their website, and kept us sleeping on an air mattress for an entire month sick over when it would come (no date, kept postponing with various excuses). NEVER USE THIS company. We received no apology, no respectful integrity what so ever. I would never trust this company. They also had people email me harrassing me to take down my honest review on YELP, same people who wrote fake positive reviews on the site. Smells everything dishonest and fishy. Fair warning.

   I used this company in February to move from a place I was renting to a sorage unit for the time being until I closed on my home. I was given a quote of $450 to do the move. On the day of the move, I was charged $300 more. I had left a review on the companies Facebook page expressing my dissatisfaction. I got a message from Jake basically saying that it was basically my fault for rescheduling the move and the rates had gone up on a move that was completed in the winter and that I didn’t inquire about this. Seems odd that the rates would increase this way in the winter time. Another thing is that the final payment is cash only, this should serve as a clue that there is something off with the way they do business . Instead of trying to make things right he chose to block me. I am going to be needing moving services soon as I move my things from my storage unit to my house. It’s a shame he couldn’t work with me as I would have privacy I used them to move my things again.
