    Disappointment.

My overall experience was horrible. I'm not one to bad mouth companies but the way this company handled everything was very disappointing. I initially requested the move on the 14th, confirmed the date only to receive a phone call minutes later saying it was not available only the 13th. I accommodated and made changes to my schedule. Only hours to the arrival, on the 13th, to receive a phone call that the driver was in a horrible accident. I completely understood the situation to reschedule now again for the next day they offered being the 14th. Only, to receive a phone call again saying they will not be available on the 14th and will have to reschedule. As, they only have this one driver and one truck..they requested to reschedule for the 15th. At this point I requested they double check there schedule to make sure they can really do the 15th as it keeps changing. At this point the woman went hysterical on the phone explaining the driver is in the hospital, then used profanity and inappropriate names that were addressed addressed to me, threatening to cancel my order. (Mind you this was at 7pm on Sunday). This made me feel extremely uncomfortable with them and cancelled immediately requesting my deposits to be refunded. I am now having to negotiate terms for my deposit to be refunded..plus try and find a new moving company. This is all extremely unprofessional and in honesty, slightly glad this happened because who knows what could have happened when they have my stuff during the move and something big happen only to deal with that lady's rude abrasive behavior, while they have my items! I'm honestly baffled with this company and the way things have been handled! I would not wish this experience on anyone!

    Thieves and liars!!

I have been waiting now for over two weeks as opposed to the 7 days they said. Also, four days ago, they said the truck had to stop and fix a tail light. It. Should have been here by now since the truck supposedly stopped one state away, but suddenly, upon our call back, Sarah doesn't even know where her driver is!! They quoted one thing and as the stuff was put on the truck, they asked for over an additional grand!! I read all of these reviews and stuff on other sites, and so far everything is happening to us,down to the smallest detail!! I swear if they come asking for more money and my stuff is not all there..

    Lost items.

We did not receive all our boxes.there was 3 families on our truck. manager could only give me info on 1 of them to check and see if our belongings were with them, he said he didn't know who the other family in Ca. was ?? I would think you would know where you were shipping someones belongings to, Got the run around for a year. He gave us the number of the ins. co. to file a claim, said there was nothing he could do (didn't even try to help). With only a year to file a claim and the driver that unloaded the truck didn't check off the number on the boxes from the manifest we are stuck. The driver unloaded our entire house in less than 1 1/2 hrs took his money and left. I would not recomend this Co. to anyone.

Please Avoid this mover at all cost.

Hi I was moving on a budget, and so accepted the lowest offer on my email- boy I was wrong.. just a brief summary: 1. my cost was almost two times of what was actually estimated on the phone, using my inventory 2. Pick up was by the company truck, but the delivery was on a rental truck (Budget rentals). And surprisingly the driver was the same 3. Boxes were bashed up, my $1000 leather sofa was torn, my $500 dresser was broken. 4. On top of that, the driver called me a liar and said that I had shipped a torn sofa and a broken dresser- clearly against what he himself had written on the inventory sheet. 5. finally after multiple calls, claims and about 2 months- I have been offered a settlement on about $100. I do not write reviews very frequently, but I am writing this one only in the hope that others will not fall prey to this company.. Ah one more thing.. Randy the rep. who used to call me every other day before the booking will not pick his phone up after you have booked your move.. I hope this review helps  .

    Do Not Hire!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! Delivery was guaranteed for 9/1/13 (which company spokesperson, Andy, denied); actual delivery on 7/26/13.  After a number of phone calls to company (Andy) in obtaining any accurate, honest explanation of when the truck would come, we were forced to expect our belongings early. They blatantly lied to us. We told them numerous times our apartment would not be ready until 9/1 and if we did not expect the shipment on 7/26 our belongings would be placed in storage for an extended time (1 month ) and would be held responsible for paying. Our contract clearly stated that we cannot accept shipment before 9/1. They refused to work with us and threatened us to get an attorney and stated he would "screw us over" because we were angry on the phone. When the movers arrived and unloaded the belongings, substantial damage and soiling was discovered as well as missing boxes.

    Moving Company.

DO NOT hire this company!! Delivery was guaranteed for 7/10/13 (which company spokesperson, Andy, denied); actual delivery on 7/22/13.  Succession of phone calls to company (Andy) futile in obtaining any accurate, honest explanation of where the truck was and when it would actually arrive.  It was only thru the efforts of a clerical person at the company who informed us that on the date the van was expected to arrive in Santa Monica, it had not even left NJ yet!!  Blatantly lied to as to location and condition of van.  After a frustrating wait, when the movers finally arrived and unloaded my daughter's belongings, substantial damage and soiling was discovered:  flat screen TV smashed, bedding covered in mold, furniture dented, scraped, paint chipped; clothing containers upside down resulting in clothing delivered in a wrinkled, unwearable pile; fabric headboard soiled.  .

    Unethical Practices.

I received a binding estimate for a long distance move (from Norristown, PA to Baltimore, MD). This estimate included an itemized list of inventory to be moved. I was given a specific day and time for my move, with arrival/loading and arrival/off-loading times. The original estimate was $1157.   On my scheduled moving day, the movers were an hour late beyond my moving window. I proceeded to email/call everyone I could at American Quality Movers (AQM). I had to leave messages. I eventually got a return call from the driver saying the truck had broken the day PRIOR and no one called me to notify me. The earliest they could get there was 4 PM that day. The move was then pushed back until the next day, at the original agreed-upon time.   Upon arrival to my apartment, I was told I likely had more volume (cubic feet) than originally quoted. I assumed a little more may have been expected, but not a lot since I had given an itemized list and a specific amount of boxes with their dimensions. I was told it would cost $25 more for my tv due to my size, even though the size was listed on the estimate. This was removed. I was then charged a $75 "long carry" charge, they felt the distance to/from the elevator was too much, which I was not told ahead of time (and the distance was not significant).   They waited until ALL of my stuff was loaded onto the truck to tell me that they felt I had 660 cu sq ft of inventory. This was DOUBLE what they had quoted me. This made my cost JUMP to $2232! 1075 more than my original quote. Outrageous! And they did not tell me until all of my stuff was loaded on their truck. Highly suspicious and unethical. An hour later and many calls made, I managed to get the price down to 1700, which was still $543 more. AND they demanded it in CASH now! Not what they specified before!   On arrival to my apt they circled for an hour because they didn't think the truck would fit. AND they could not get my couch to my new apt. Had to carry it up 8 floors ourselves!       I want BBB to know about all of this and adjust their rating. I had initially chosen these movers because of their BBB rating! It is so hard to choose a mover and I can't believe this happened! I believe I should receive some sort of partial refund for all of this trouble and hassle as well as their unethical and suspicious estimation process. They were late without notice, handled my items poorly, did not reassemble everything before moving, were unable to unload all of the inventory into the apartment, and nearly refused delivery because of their inability to properly drive the truck. They demanded cash for everything after notifying me that paying partially in check and cash was their preferred method. The most outrageous matter being trying to charge me $1075 more than my quote, and not until they had all of my possessions on their truck!
