Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent move and providing a clear and specific feedback about your experience with America's Movers. We apologize for the issues that occurred during your move and that you didn't have a better experience with our crew. The details that you outlined in your review do not reflect our company expectations and standards. But I would like to do after reviewing your file is correct a couple of the statements you stated about our company and your move. Val Torres contacted our offices on 08/09/2021 for a free estimate for his move from Tampa, FL to Fredericksburg, VA. After going over a room-by-room inventory of his items that needed to be move. Val also requested that he have a guaranteed pick update and that he couldn't take delivery till 08/27/2021. Byron explained that we are a direct delivery company but were able to accommodate his request. During the booking process, Byron his moving coordinator we over the estimate and explained to Val the different insurance options he had. Attached is an electronic signature by Val Torres agreeing to the terms and conditions on 08/10/2021. At the pickup in Tampa, FL on 08/19/2021, the foreman went back over the same estimate Val electronically signed. He also provided Val with a packing material list, and a waiver form (for items America's Movers was not liable for damages in transit). (attached) The foreman at the pickup informed Val and our offices that his items were older and already had prior damage. The estimate was adjusted due to more items on the list and some items were professional packed. We have attached the packing material list with a break down and the bill of lading. At the delivery in Fredericksburg, VA on 08/30/2021 the foreman contacted the office and stated Val was claim all his items had been damaged. The foreman explained to Val, that his boxes packed by owner were completely overweight for the size of box he had packed. The foreman also explained some of the items were bulky and were difficult to fit through the new home doorway. The foreman that if he moved some of the items into the new home doorway there was a possibility of the items and doorway getting damaged. Val contact ed our offices after his move with is his complaints, claims of damage and threats. We have reviewed and processed his claim. After reviewing his claim and pictures of his damaged items, we feel the claim check for $497.80 is sufficient. We also agree to pay the repairs that have been done to your doorway. You better do the move yourself! You will do it faster and better.
In May 2020, I hired America's Movers to move apartments within the same building. They did an awfully poor job, were negligent and took unwarranted breaks which were charged to my bill. Furniture was damaged because they did not pad it or protect it when moving and were disrespectful and unprofessional when it came to taking responsibility. $800 in cash went missing during the move. When I spoke with the owner Jordan, he was intimidating, extremely impolite and dismissive. He reduced the bill $100 off for the buffet they damaged. I called a professional carpenter who gave me an estimate of $350 to fix the piece. The crew did not finish the job. They did not do a walk through at the end of the move. They were eager to leave so I learned about other broken and damaged furniture once they left. The next day, I requested video footage of the common areas from the association (freight elevator, docking and receiving area and hallways). Through looking at the recordings, I learned that in the 5 hour work, they took many breaks (they went down to the receiving area to chill out and smoke- which is prohibited) and added that time (about one hour priced at $115/hour) to my bill. I filed a complaint with the company, but I was never contacted by them. Do not fall for their trap. This company is misleading, not professional and not trustworthy. By now, I have read many negative reviews and the "generic" answers from the company. I understand that I have not paid for additional insurance and that the company only pays for $0.60/lb. Lack of professionalism and negligence from their part should not be charged to the client. We pay for a professional service and if that was not given, the client should not be penalized for their poor and incompetent job. If I could give ZERO out of FIVE.
Response from Americas Movers Inc.
Sorry for the delay in our response to this complaint. With the COVID-19 and us moving down to Miami things have been a little crazy. We have provided a copy of Tamara Donnenfield signed bill of lading, copy of her original estimate that she signed electronically on 05/12/20, copy of her signed packing material list, copy of her signed packing material form and a copy of her signed cargo/property damage report. Tamara claimed at delivery that movers damaged some of her items. The foreman informed her that she had some items that needed additional packing at an additional cost. Tamara informed the foreman she did not want to pay the additional cost for packing. The foreman informed her that if she did not go with his professional advice, she would have to sign a waiver form and also putting her items at risk. The movers did move all her items to her new residents. When Tamara informed foreman of the damages he noted them on cargo/property damage report. The foreman then called me and said the customer was not happy and would not pay the bill due to the damages. I explained to the foreman to give Tamara a $100.00 discount on her move because of the damages. On the cargo/property damage report you can see that the report was signed by the foreman and the customer Tamara Donnenfield. She also agreed to settle the claim onsite at deliver for $100.00. The customer also signed the bill of lading for delivery. The bill of lading at delivery states: "the shipper hereby acknowledges that the shipment was received in apparently good condition except as noted on the inventory list. Furthermore, the shipper acknowledges that all the services that were ordered have been performed, have been fully satisfied, and the truck was inspected, and nothing has been left behind. Shipper and/or agent has fully authority to accept the shipment and enter into this shipment." Please contact me directly at 954-495-4226 if you need further assistance in this matter.

Scam.
They will take all your stuff and up your quote. I had to pay for a lady who didn't know how to do simple math. They will lie and they do not weigh the truck.. shocker. they lied about the amount of boxes I had. they pretty much lied about everything. STAY far away from this company unless you like getting lied to and over charged.
