   Horrible Moving Company!

   Awful Experience. Awful service. Awful customer service. Damaged and Lost Items exceeded $8,000 in value. Bellhop refused to cover that. Emails and phone lines seem managed by AI and bots, so nearly impossible to talk with a person. They require you to consent to absolve Bellhop from blame of damage or missing items before they will even look at a claim. Their reimbursement rate is determined by weight instead of value. Movers showed up late, driver mentioned the truck had been in an accident, and the pack job in the truck was really horrible. Steer clear of this nightmare of a company.

   Predatory and Fraudulent Company

   Bellhop Moving is a deceptive brokerage (not a direct moving company) that intentionally underquotes customers to lure them in, only to inflate charges by 350% or more after services are rendered. The kids they hire as "movers" are not professional or qualified movers, and they even admitted underquoting is standard practice for Bellhop. The company makes no effort to be transparent about pricing. They quoted me 4 hours to move a 750 sq. ft. apartment just 3 miles, with only one large furniture item (a 3-seat couch) and total possessions that filled only half a truck. The move ended up taking nearly 11 hours, and with all charges, the cost exceeded $3,000 - an outrageous, predatory scam. When I reported these serious issues mid-move, Bellhop lied about sending help and never followed up. Post-move, they falsified documents sent to my credit card company, falsely claiming more movers were present and that I never raised any issues or concerns, despite extensive communications proving otherwise. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has been trying to hold them accountable for years due to an overwhelming number of similar complaints (1.2-star rating, 131+ complaints), but the State Attorney General offices have not yet taken action. This company is a scam, a bait-and-switch operation, and a consumer nightmare. If you value your time, money, and sanity, hire one of the many alternatives to Bellhop Movers.

   Absolutely Disastrous Experience with Bellhop - A Cautionary Tale

   I typically refrain from lengthy reviews, but our appalling experience with Bellhop compels me to warn others. This moving company, which presented itself as professional and reliable, turned our long-distance move from Los Angeles to Seattle into a complete nightmare. Pre-Move Promises vs. Reality: Upon booking, I discussed specific requirements with a Bellhop representative, Jamie Edwards. I was assured that our movers would be Bellhop employees, in uniform, using a Bellhop truck, and equipped to handle a long-distance move with all necessary supplies. Instead, what followed was a cascade of misinformation and chaos: Confirmed Moving Date Changed: We were informed at the last minute that our moving date was not guaranteed. Movers Unprofessional: The movers, who arrived in an Enterprise truck, were subcontracted, not Bellhop employees. They lacked professionalism, appearing disheveled and unprepared. Lack of Supplies: The movers had insufficient blankets and no proper packing materials, forcing us to use our own resources. Day of the Move: The moving day was rife with stress and mismanagement: Incorrect Timing: Confusion over the scheduled time due to a timezone mix-up, causing unnecessary panic. Unprepared and Unprofessional Staff: The team leader brought his toddler to the job site, contributing further to the unprofessional atmosphere. The movers were inadequately prepared, with minimal moving supplies. Constant Threats of Insufficient Space: We were repeatedly warned that our belongings might not fit, despite prior moves having no such issues. Post-Move Issues: Avoidance by Bellhop Representatives: Attempts to contact the Bellhop representative who arranged our move were futile. Empty Promises: Conversations with the CEO and other supervisors during the move promised resolutions that never materialized. Severe Damage and Carelessness: Our belongings were carelessly handled; not properly wrapped or secured, resulting in significant damage. Conclusion: This move was marked by a severe lack of professionalism, preparedness, and honesty. What was advertised as a stress-free and efficient service turned out to be a distressing ordeal, with movers who seemed barely more capable than if we had hired random people off the street. The experience was so far from what was promised that it felt like a blatant case of false advertising. Demands for Resolution: We have captured extensive video evidence and possess all relevant communications. We are seeking full reimbursement for the move and compensation for damages, which we estimate to be at least $10,000. Final Thoughts: If you value your belongings and peace of mind, I strongly advise against using Bellhop. This experience was not only stressful but also deeply disappointing from a company that claims to be a leader in the industry.

   Do not use this company !!

   This company damaged over 10,000 worth of my property offered me 325. My contract says if things are damaged accidentally however this was no accident I have video to date I have not been compensated. Also I am a disaster victim they showed up late I hired 4, 3 showed they tore up my Sofas tv mirrors stole items we had to make a police report. Bellhop knew as I phoned them this company did not have wrap paper or moving pads and the movers told me they were overbooked by bellhop and tired and left Prior to moving everything out I rented a uhaul truck and took my things left to a uhaul storage. The movers were young looking and aggressive towards me using explicit vulgar language bellhop again was aware as I phoned them. Bellhop contract says what they pay for accidental damage this was not an accident the movers laughed and said they don’t care if they get fired they have other jobs bellhop raised the price of the move than wanted me to think they compensated me. No I have thousands of deliberate damaged furniture

   Worst Moving Company

   This company cancelled my move 55 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive. They lied about reimbursing me since I had to schedule a last minute move with another mover. I still have not received the check they claimed to have mailed. They are unprofessional liars. Don't trust them. They book moves and then wait until the day of to try and find moving labor. They also rent Penske trucks, not even their own trucks. Save yourself the stroke and get a reputable, reliable moving company.

   Absolutely horrible

   Business review on Bellhop Moving— Do not ever use this company. Honestly, some of it is comical….I’d suggest a read even if you don’t want/need a review of a moving company. I booked a move with a truck and two movers two weeks ago, gave my deposit, got my total, etc. I didn’t feel confident AT ALL that the reservation was correct because of who I talked to, so I called back the next day to confirm. They updated a ”few things,” and confirmed. Day of my move: two movers show up, no truck. I immediately got on the phone with headquarters. They immediately admitted they completely messed up. I asked for them to send a truck, and was super patient. They said they’d text me in 5-10 min with a resolution. Meanwhile, the movers are still just sitting with me. 30 min later, nothing. I call back and they said all they can do is reschedule and give me $15 off my move (my total was over $800…). I couldn’t accommodate the dates they wanted to reschedule, so I cancelled, and the movers left. I was able to immediately rent a Penske truck, called headquarters back, and asked them to send the movers back or send new ones. (They had been gone ~15 min). They tried to transfer me to a 30+ min hold. I said no and that I needed to speak to a manager. A manager named Taylor told me at first that he had no way to track down the movers. (Their own staff members…) then he finally said they could and would call me back in ONE HOUR to update me (why would it take so long?)… Guess who NEVER got a call back…completely unacceptable. A few things: 1) I NEVER post negative reviews of businesses knowing that one person/event doesn’t make/break a business. However, this was incredibly ridiculous from booking (an entire story on its own) all the way through. I’ll be posting a Google review as well. So many people have moving deadlines, and I’m just lucky that I have a grace period. 2) The movers themselves were WONDERFUL!!! So apologetic, so nice and polite, etc. 3) I made sure the movers were paid for their time. 3) The woman who took my booking told me that I had to state how many hours I needed and if I under-judged the time, the movers would stop immediately. Meaning if I said 4 hours, the movers would drop everything and leave at 4 hours. I said that can’t be right, what if there are still things on the truck? How am I billed for extra time, if needed? She proceeded to say “No, they’re done at 4 hours.” I said, “Ma’am, they’re not just going to drive off with my stuff…” She replied, “Oh, well. No. Not sure what they do.”

   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY -- I had a deplorable experience with BellHop. They are using the old bait and switch… estimate 4hrs at an attractive price, use an inexperienced team thereby doubling the time and cost at the risk of your pockets and your belongings. I used the company on October 16th 2021 to move 45 seconds away (literally) from one apartment building in the same complex to another. I was quoted 3 – 4 hrs based on the furniture and belongings. It took the team, 4 hours to load up the truck from the first location. What should have been a 3 maybe 4 hour move, turned into an 8 hour move resulting in thousands of dollars worth of damage: a broken 55” TV, broken bed frame, broken fireplace TV stand, severely damaged bedroom suit, damaged dining room table, scratched and deeply chipped bookcase, broken lamp. Additionally, the items that had to be disassembled and reassembled at the new location were not reassembled correctly… HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

   Long distance move

   If I could give a zero I would. This was absolutely the worst experience ever. They sent a team of inexperienced children who didn't even come prepared to disassemble furniture, didn't use dolly or safety gear, didn't wear masks, were just there to run the clock and scam us. You better take two trucks even if you don't need it or your stuff will be left because they don't do their jobs and the company won't take responsibility for it. They didn't wrap or protect any of our brand new furniture and damaged all of it. They will not give you what the damages are worth and will not negotiate even though they break the contract and will just send you to collections. No customer service, just a scam company run by kids who could care less about you or your belongings. Too many complaints with BBB, don't use this company!

    I wouldn't recommend bellhops to anyone

    I wouldn't recommend bellhops to any friends or neighbors. We had the worst experience. Our movers were late, one of them didn't wear a mask, and they were painstakingly slow. I was told that bellhops was a white glove experience, it was quite the opposite. One of the movers left halfway into the job because he borrowed his mom's car to get to the job and she needed it back. That left one mover to move everything for about three hours. I called the company for them to send someone else, they sent him, and then he left 30 minutes later. He eventually came back and the two of them finished the move. EIGHT HOURS and $1,400 for a one bedroom apartment. Did I mention that I moved less than one mile away? Truly ridiculous. They also broke the elevator. In the end, customer service refunded SOME of my money, but I will never get the time wasted or the anxiety back. If you're looking for movers, please, look elsewhere.
