   Exceptional Service

   Back in November of 2021, Jim Carney came to our rescue with literally two days notice to fill the immense gap left by a lesser professional and unreliable mover who dropped the ball just days before our pre-arranged and planned move. My wife and I were absolutely thrilled with the service and simply wanted to say THANK YOU Jim and Rawlinson Moving & Storage for your exceptional service and genuine care for our situation and property !! Our move was compounded with a second family home also involved and Jim and his team came thru for us all and we couldn’t be more pleased nor recommend anyone else for your moving needs.    Move from Orangeville to Barrie

   This past fall and into the winter, Rawlinson moving helped us to relocate from Orangeville to the Barrie area. This was our fourth move using Rawlinson and they have always stepped up to the plate. The load from Orangeville took place in October and our goods were stored at the Rowlinson warehouse for approximately two months until our new home was ready in Barrie late December. Both of the load and unload could not have gone smoother. My wife and I couldn’t believe how fast the crew worked which was led by Matty and still maintained efficiency and provided extra care with our goods from start to finish. They arrived on time and began assessing the access and any important information to note before bringing the contents out on the load and in on the unload. They were extremely organized and properly protected our floors and stairs with clean runners, furniture with furniture pads, bubble wrap and foam when needed , and any other objects that were coming in and out of our homes. The crew made a very stressful event in our lives fun and upbeat with their energy, positivity, willingness to work with us the client and their sense of humor. I was worried about bringing a 350 pound dresser up the stairs in our new home but this was no problem for them! They communicated around tight corners and brought it upstairs without a hitch. We are so very pleased that we decided to go with Rawlinson again and will continue to use them in the future and also recommend them to family and friends!

   Stress Free!

   I just wanted to take a minute to thank the crew at Rawlinson Moving. The consultant and office staff were pleasant to deal with from our first phone conversation. The crew arrived on time and were extremely cordial even though our move took place on one of the hottest days of the summer. We couldn’t believe how quick the crew moved and how much energy they brought. They were especially careful when it came to COVID-19 safety protocol. The way they loaded our possessions in the moving truck was masterful to say the least as I did not think they were going to fit it all in. It was definitely a game of Tetris. Kudos to Allan and his crew – absolutely remarkable service! We would highly recommend Rawlinson Moving and will be using them for any future moves.

   Long distance move from Ontario to Alberta

   Although the office staff was very personable and helpful, we were extremely disappointed with the move overall. The cost was expensive and the move resulted in damaged goods and furniture even though we were assured all moving crews were to be first rate. Toronto crew was great. Not sure what happened after our goods left their hands!

   Move from Ontario to Florida

   The estimator assured us that he could evaluate the cost of the move virtually by having my wife take her iphone across the house. The day of the packing came, and they failed to send adequate crew to complete the pack. We then needed temporary storage in Florida. This enabled Mr. Carney, the owner, to pocket several thousand dollars he would have to have paid for unloading and assembling furniture at our new home in Florida. That is, he was now simply dropping the goods at a warehouse, not having to pay for a crew to unload, climb stairs, unpack, and assemble furniture at our home. Rawlinson's owner,Jim Carney acted as though he could not understand the difference between backing a trailer up to a warehouse versus a complete unload at a home, carrying furniture upstairs, unboxing, assembly and so on. Basically not a believer in the Golden Rule....

   Long Distance from Ontario to PEI

   1st Issue: Failed to pick up furniture as scheduled. Called the night before and was told there was no truck available for my move. No one from the company called me and I only found this out because I called them. I guess my husband would have been waiting around with no moving company if I had not called. They managed to find a truck and arrive the following day (luckily we had given ourselves a 1 day buffer but otherwise might have faced a lawsuit since we had sold this property and needed to be out). 2nd Issue: Movers out a large scratch in our hardwood floor my husband had to try to fix the night before our house closed. 3rd Issue: Movers left without getting us the inventory list, tried following up multiple times but never got it. 4th Issue: Stuff was damaged, including maple TV stand that was new and vintage record player. 5th Issues: Movers who unloaded just put our stuff everywhere with no stacking or logic. They even blocked our access to the kitchen sink. Generally we were told we were paying at the high end but we would get a premium service This was not the case...very disappointed. They did keep their pricing guarantee and deliver in the agreed upon timeframe.

   Ignored Damage Claim.

   I thought we were in good hands from what the sales person recounted - experienced company, indoor storage facility and great moving crews. But sadly this was not the case. Our furniture, some antiques, all had damage .. dents, scratches, tears in upholstery; carefully boxed glassware was broken and the moving crew damaged walls and hardwood floors/stairs when they moved us into our brand new home. I put in a claim form three days after the move which they have not even acknowledged. I have emailed and phoned numerous times - all ignored. It's been 4 months since the move and still no acknowledgement. I am now undertaking legal action. Not an ethical company!

   Save your money and heartache!..DON'T use this company! Was assured "I'd be looked after" and was taken to the cleaners! They broke irreplaceable items, including gifts from my late husband and my late Father. Had to caution one of the movers re his snotty attitude. Was charged $5K MORE than quoted! When breakages were discovered -"Too bad, so sad" was Rawlinson's attitude, hiding behind their lawyers. NOT even an APOLOGY, let alone reimbursement from insurance they stated they held when quoting.

    Don't Bother.

    Don't bother with the Mississauga location of Rawlinsons. We have used them in the past, but obviously customer service is on the decline. We were advised to purchase insurance but when we went to plug in our flat screen tv only an hour after the movers took out $1100, the tv had obviously been hit very hard in the top corner (was in original packaging btw). Don't bother! Save your money and use a company that is honest and doesn't sell you insurance at additional cost that doesn't cover anything of value. Really disappointed! There are plenty of other movers that can do the same work without damaging your goods!
