failed international move
I moved in October 2022 from Montreal to Spain with AMJ. I was very disappointed with the service. Some boxes when missing and they search through our belonging. On arrival we noticed the boxes had been opened and things unpacked. My daughter American girl doll and jewelry went missing. My wife's expensive hand bags and perfumes went missing. Andre Lelievre offered a discount that he never honored. Tina Doyle, Key account coordinator is well trained to respond very politely and not give any answers. They did not assume responsibility for any of the goods that disappeared

I had the unpleasant surprise to unpack a badly damaged speaker and a brand new Sony TV. The speaker was padded and boxed by the crew, so the damage can only be explained by poor handling. The same can be said about the TV, which was packed in the original box.

Move From Kanata, Ontario to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia 2021
I just wanted to say how extremely disappointed I am with most of my AMJ Campbell move experience. Having served more than thirty-two years in the Canadian Armed Forces, I experienced many Government funded and sponsored moves within Canada and overseas. At least one of those as with AMJ Campbell. Those moves went very well, perhaps due to the oversight of military transport members monitoring these moves from start to finish. As a retired veteran I paid for this entire move and storage on my own. As a member of the CF One program I was entitled to some level of discount on my move. I was also entitled to earn a small amount of Aeroplan points for hiring AMJ Campbell as my mover. Sadly, I'm unable to claim that I received any discount and certainly will not receive any Aeroplan points because I was unable to obtain full accounting and receipt for my move including pack, storage and delivery to destination? The requirement also requests a bill of lading which is also an omission. The handling of my furniture and effects was not at a professional level at my home in Kanata (August 2021) or at my new home in Dartmouth (December 2021). I'm reminded of this by the chipped, scratched and dented items in my home and the items that ended up at the curb headed for the landfill. I accept that a December 29th move-in with cold weather would not be ideal conditions however there should be a standard level of care provided. It would be difficult to ascertain when all of the damages occurred. I have indicated my dissatisfaction, and I have requested a detailed accounting of my costs associated with move-out, storage, interprovincial transportation and move-in. I had been asking for this documentation since January 7, 2022 (moving coordinator Ottawa) and a follow-up (member of Accounting Ottawa) late February 2022. The Ottawa office has gone silent and the Halifax/location never responded.

Do not use this moving company
Don't know why we didn't do more review research, but ourselves and many others have not had a good experience with these movers. We couldn't be around for moving day due to logistics, but if we had they wouldn't gotten away with the shenanigans they pulled off. They opened all our sealed wardrobe boxes and stuffed them full of living room things, like our end tables. We felt our privacy was encroached on... At the other end, boxes labelled "kitchen" were in the basement, and vice versa. Other boxes clearly labelled "This side up" were upside down. The list goes on. Their estimate was a few thousand shy of what they said.

Do not recommend.
This is going back a few years, but still affects us to this day. AMJ packed our van and without our knowledge, picked up another household move which caught fire half way to our new city. We lost almost everything. AMJ was at fault after the investigation, we had no apology and they would not release our items to insurance until FULL payment was made. What wasn’t thrown out was broken or damaged. Horrible experience!

Moved three years ago from Vancouver to the Okanagan. The movers were late, misjudged the size of the load and had to put stuff on another truck which took an extra week to get. When the movers arrived they ask for another $400.00 before they would unload for some extra costs… which was never explained. They didn’t have all of our belongings and left us with someone else’s junk. Never did get our belongings back. We are moving again and would never use or recommend these folks.

This move transpired 3 years ago, there was no claim submitted for missing items, there was no claim submitted for unnecessary charges and there has been no claim submitted from a companion shipment that would indicate items delivered were not the consignees.

Very Dishonest
I am so heartbroken. I really had high hopes for this company. Having heard their CEO (Bruce Bowser) speak and reading his book, I really felt he understood leadership and that I would be well taken care of. Not so. The charges keep going up and up. I am a disabled veteran and have now been sleeping on a cot in my near empty house for the last two months because they didn’t load my shipment when they stated they would. I now just received an email from the overseas agent, which is a different company than the one stated on my quote, and I need to pay even more money to receive my shipment because AMJ won’t pay the storage fee apparently encountered due to port congestion…. Off course they will reply to this review stating that it was in my contract and blah, blah, blah…. Add to that the fact that there was never a proper survey done of my belongings (on that one they are hiding behind COVID, although the agent did offer to come and do a survey) and them trying to charge me $1500 over the quoted amount, the damage to one of my item which they apparently don’t have insurance for and it needs to come from me, etc, etc, etc…. and you should most definitely look for a different moving company if you are moving overseas. Maybe if you have a large shipment it’s different, but if you are one of the little guy, you are treated as such.

Worst customer service
This was the worst move by far. I made the move from Ontario to Nova Scotia and all though the movers themselves were great on both ends, the delivery date I was told has now been moved back 2 weeks. When I told them that I could not live without my things for another week they had nothing to say. I am unable to start a job and am not able to live in my house because they can't get their act together and schedule things properly.

Would not recommend
The movers themselves were fairly good, despite things not ending up where they were supposed to in the house. The sales person underestimated the truck size and overall attitude by the local owners were not good. I would not recommend during COVID.

I got robed
My skateboard half of my bed my sister scooter an 1000 dollar jacket and lots of other stuff. About 2000 dollars worth of stuff got stolen. My toys my sisters bed my moms china cabinet broken. This company is horrible.
