   Disasterous move

   Beyond Moving was contracted to move a limited amount of furniture and belongings from Virginia to California. We took out full replacement insurance for an extra cost. The belongings were picked up in May 2021. They were delivered (late) in mid-July 2021. Two items (an antique lamp and antique sewing machine) were missing from the delivery. The Household Goods Descriptive Inventory acknowledges these items were not delivered and will be shipped within 5 days. Several items were damaged as well including an antique slate mantel clock (this was destroyed). All items damaged or lost were recently inherited from my mother-in-law who died of COVID-19 in Virginia in February 2021. These items were selected for their importance and sentimental value to ship to our home in California. Beyond Moving (Shannon and Jose) was initially responsive to our attempts to have missing items located and delivered but they now ignore our calls and/or do not return them as promised. We filed a claim as they instructed and waited weeks to get a reply. When one finally came the offer was based on weight despite the fact that we indicated we had full replacement insurance. Shannon said she would take care of it and call us back but nothing ever happened and they are unresponsive to our calls or make up excuses why nothing is happening to resolve these problems. Shame on them.

   Extortion, Damage, and Lies.

   This company was hired by a moving broker for us. They showed up a day and a half late. We weren't able to meet them b/c we were due in another city. My elderly mother met them. The movers refused to wear masks, so she had to sit outside. They called to ask me to have her sign an insurance form. I said that was fine. They were lying to both of us, they were having her sign a contract. During their loading of out things, they managed to break a copper water line to the fridge, and break a giant window in our upstairs bedroom. They hired some other local team from some uhaul website to help with the packing.After they loaded everything,they called to tell me it would five to ten days and there were overage fees. Accept it or they would put my stuff out on the curb. After constant arguments, fights, and threats, they finally showed up with our stuff fourteen days after they packed it. Upon arriving, they told me I had signed a contract stating I would give them cash. I told them I had no idea what they were talking about. They produced a contract they had my heat exhausted and elderly mother sign under the guise of an insurance enrollment form. They threatened to take my things, charge me hourly rates, and over night fees. I was able to find a place to get money orders. Before they started unloading, they tried to force me to sign something saying all of our things were fine and had arrived. I refused. They finally start unloading the truck.. after they finished they tried to get me to sign the form again, but they hadn't taken the wrapping off anything. I refused and told them to get out of my house. I unwrapped everything and there was TONS of damage! Like every single piece of furniture was damaged. I was told open things and soil wouldn't be packed.. but they sure were, and they packed things like glass decorations with loose soil, and electronics. It made no sense. Half the boxes were only a 1/3rd of the way filled which explained the overages. Stay away from these folks!
