   Lost of Missed Communication

   We booked our cross-country move with Suddath since we knew people who had a good experience. However, there was miscommunication from the beginning that led to our boxes not being labelled, us doing the work for the move and lots of damaged goods. This was in addition to a late delivery. Would not recommend.

   Moving

   First, I'll preface by saying I've never written a review for a company before. Then I had the unfortunate event of having to move through Suddath. An utter embarrassment across every level of my move: 1. They misidentified the amount of goods that I sent to them IN A VIDEO, and sent only two packers to pack up dozens of boxes and heavy furniture. Took hours longer than it should have and it was unfortunate for the packers who did not expect as many goods. 2. Once my goods arrived in Virginia, I received a text on my expected delivery date that said they were going to be there in a couple of hours, and then they proceeded to never show up. It took many phone calls and lots of transferring (because apparently everybody on the administrative side is more incompetent than the last person) in order to reschedule the delivery for another dates. Don't worry though, it only cost me taking my personal days off for it to finally work out. 3. And finally, the delivery of the goods was fine until I realized my computer was broken in the move. Unfortunate but it happens, so I filed a claim. 2 months later they finally get back to me just to tell me my claim is denied because 'computer parts have an incalculable lifespan and can break at any time'. Even though yaknow, my computer worked fine before the move. Overall, this company is unprofessional, impossible to actually contact and get any information out of, and just an all-around embarrassment. I cannot emphasize enough how much you should find another company to move with.

   The worst experience

   I have moved across the country multiple times with the military. Suddath moving our household goods from Montana to Alaska has literally taken 43 days for them to even drive through Canada. We STILL do not have our things AND our online status says they moved it on a ship from Seattle to Fairbanks. After speaking with the operations team they confirmed they actually drove it on the ALCAN. There is a serious lack of communication with this company and their military members. Service has been horrible and also - why does it take 43 days to move 3000 miles? Are you kidding me? If Suddath is the company assigned to do your move in the military just do a DITY because this company is trash.

   Unproffesion and poor communicators that cancelled with no warning

   Despite having used Suddath previously with good results, their latest performance has ensured we will never use them again. We had a small job scheduled today, the Monday before Thanksgiving, to move some furniture and boxes to a storage unit before we do some flooring work and then list our house for sale. It was somewhat last minutes, but we signed a contract, and everything was scheduled for today. When we didn't hear anything this morning, my wife tried repeatedly to call them to confirm the time and see when their crew would arrivee. She spoke with the receptionist several times, but was unable to reach the inside sales rep Jose, although she was promised that he would call her back. This never happened. Now it's past noon and we discover that for no good reason, we were sent an email over the weekend that no one saw cancelling our move claiming an equipment issue. No phone call and no mention when we called this morning several times. Now our entire schedule this week and our listing is in jeopardy unless we can find another mover. So completely unprofessional and unsatisfactory. Soon, we will have a whole house move involving about 10 times the scope of this small move today. Guess which company will not be doing that work? Extremely disappointed.

   Worst International move ever!

   I have moved internationally 6 times and Suddath was the worst by far. They misquoted and raised my final price by 30%, with little recourse for me. Basically they had my goods hostage and if I didn't pay up they would keep adding charges onto my already enormous bill (17k Estimate to 24k+ final cost). At time of move my wife's wedding ring went missing and we hoped it was not stolen. We had raised that it was missing but nothing was done until 4 months later when our goods arrived in USA. Wedding ring was not there and they did an "investigation", which went know where and they were not willing to do anything about it. Would never recommend this company due to these 2 negative events in 1 move. Additionally never felt listened to nor supported. Worst move ever with worst team behind their services and no real regard for customers.

   Move from Jacksonville, Florida to Washington DC

   I would choose a different mover. Movers do not have a great reputation but another mover has to be better. Suddath arrived at our house to access our things to move and stated “we are more expensive but we are better”. Not so. Arrived mid-day for packing, and also late on loading day, ending up loading in dark and with rain. Arrived late in DC, mixed up what was to go in storage vs. our rental. Refused to pay for damaged things which were in storage, even though documented items with photos showing items still at storage locker. Lost items, I would suggest take with you anything you care about, don’t trust them.

   Crazy price!

   My family is moving from Kansas City to Portland, Oregon for my wife's work. Her new employer said if we use Suddath, we will get a discount. Their quote came back at $27,000 discounted down to $20,000. This is an insane price. Uhaul is moving everything to Portland for $7,500, and that includes insurance on everything. Honestly, the price we were quoted by Suddath is outright insulting.

   Military relocation

   The company is very disorganized and unprofessional. I filed my claim 2 months ago and just now heard back from the company frustrated is an understatement. I’m just over this poor experience and want to move forward and warn others about the terrible customer service.

    Lost items.

    Lost my cedar chest with ALL my memories in them. All my baby pics, my kids baby books (first haircuts and first lost tooth), my parents wedding album, my nursing cap, an original newspaper from JFKs assassination and other memorable items over the years. Along with the chest, they lost my dining room table top and 5 chairs (I did get the legs and 1 chair), an antique dressing table, a bedside table, a wingback queen ann chair and multiple boxes with nicknacks. I was told no reimbursement for the lost items in the cedar chest (only for the chest). I’ve explained that the items are irreplaceable and that I get really stressed every time I think about it. Told them I wanted full value protection ($21k) but they said that that only applied to catastrophic issues. Paid these guys a lot of money for months of storage and 2 moves.
