   Long Distance Move

   My wife and i moved from Northern NJ to Cincinnati and cannot say enough good things about our move. We got a good price but I was so scared after reading negative reviews about this company and ours was NOT an easy move - a lot of stuff, some heavy awkward furniture and a lot of stairs at the Cincinnati house. Our movers - Alex P. and Kerry from the Holland, MI franchise did a fantastic job packing the truck and got in much more than i thought they would be able to. By the end of the unload, they were sweating and huffing up a storm but they never complained once the entire time. There was some minor damage on some furniture which i expected (cheap Ikea particle board stuff) but everything came through much better than i thought and some things that i was pretty sure were going to get broken came through without a scratch. I realize that a lot of it is the luck of the draw as far as what movers you get and there are probably guys who work for this company that don't do a great job - as with every moving company, but i can't say enough good things about these two men. I should also add that i used this same company a couple years ago for a small short-distance move (about 20 minutes away) and also had a great experience with those movers as well.

   The two guys came over they took very very good care Of my paintings in each one of my belongings I packed everything perfectly I had absolutely no problem they were helpful in every way it was an absolute perfect job I recommend them and will never use anyone else. Moving is hard they made it easy.

   Be careful who you hire.

   I recently hired Two men and a truck in July 2020. The two men were friendly but they were a bit slow from moving me out of my apartment. That was except by me as long as they were doing a good job. The same day I received a phone call from two men and a truck company asking me about my move, my response was it went smooth. A few days after I moved in I realize that eight of my ten glass shelves that I packed previously and had in my storage where shattered and broken. The movers dropped them that was obvious and did not tell me. I called the moving company One week later to report this incident.. In The returned email I was told should have reported this incident when I spoke to The person who called me on the same day the movers moved me in “really”. This moving company said they are not responsible because I did not report it immediately. What moving company in their right thoughts would think someone who just move into their new space would have everything completed and set up according to their timeline. I called the Moving Company and was connected with another administrator she listen to my anger not only for my property being damaged but from a worker who emailed me back telling me it wasn’t the company‘s responsibility. When I call them back because I did not hear back from this company as I was promised with the result. I was told the company wasn’t reliable.They only give you a certain amount of days. But when it comes down to this company they just want to fill their pockets regardless of their mission statement, it’s not about helping others is about helping their own self and their pockets regardless. Even if this company does not agree with my review You know they will never agree with it when you are telling the truth by a dissatisfied customer. I paid them over $1600 for moving and it was hard for them to replace my glass which cost me approximately $150 to replace. I will never use them again.

   Absolutely worst company ever

   Sold me fake insurance, broke very expensive furniture and want to spray paint it. Owner called me names screamed at me on personal line. Corporate is just as abusive. No one cares. My $5000 bed that has chunks of missing parts, had a leak totally soak and stain headboard, scratches all over was given $250 fix price w a cheap labor spray paint guy. Caracole who made said it wasn’t fixable. Dresser was $7000. Guy spray painted and has bubbles , drips , overspray and additional scratches. Drawers are all messed up. No one cares. Posted on Instagram. Prob 50 wrote saying same thing. My opinion this is big corp taking advantage of little guy. I will never stop warning.

   CANNOT RECOMMEND-TWO MEN AND A TRUCK-WHEATON IL

   Moving, always a stressful event. I used TMAT in 2005 and was so impressed by their service, I hired them again in 2024 for a 1 bedroom condo move from IL to WI costing $3300. Unfortunately, it was not the same experience. They did not wrap the furniture. All my wood furniture, book cases, desk, chair legs are deeply scratch to point wood marker or fill does not hide the damage. A few boxes were crushed resulting in broken dishes and irreplacable items, and a box went missing. TMAT has a Quality Control team to assist with damage, however, you must have original receipts for all items damaged for any reimbursement. Who keeps receipts on gifts and furniture purchased a few years ago. So needless to say, no reimbursement nor a phone call to make amends. I cannot recommend TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.

   Broken Items, Drivers Lost, Incorrect Payment Details, Smoke Breaks

   It began with scheduling the move. Was told by CSR twice on conference call with my sister that payment did not have to be made until following day after move was complete in case of different payment methods, etc. Movers said they had to be paid before they could leave! I heard two broken items happen while I was in the next room. Couldn't tell what first item was, and he couldn't describe it to me. Second item was a precious piece that my deceased aunt made for her sister, my deceased Mom. Third time, I was standing right in front of him when he dropped a boxed labeled glass. I told him I heard something break, he said he didn't! I said what was it? He said why don't you open it and see! It was a casserole dish with a lid. I took a picture this time, so did they. Then I go outside, they are all 3 sitting in the truck. Once they noticed I was out there one advised me that they were calling their supervisor to bring them some gloves! So that was 30 plus minutes on my time. At this time per reservations, first stop was to be at my new place, then my storage unit. Once supervisor toured the items that were to be moved to storage, he told them to go to storage first in case there wasn't enough room to put everything in there. Now items already in the truck have to be moved around on my time to accommodate change in stops. Going forward, finish at storage and ask driver is he sure he knows where to go, and claims he does. In short, they got lost for an hour! I reported it to office so they could find them. Finally, while moving items upstairs we watched out the window as one of my boxes rolled down the stairs and a neighbor picked it up and handed it back to him. He placed it on bottom stair railing and left it to bring it up last. I asked him what had been broken and said he didn't know. I told him we saw what happened. He commented that it always happens. Ended up being two, printed on, coffee cups broken. I asked if he wanted to take a picture because I was going to put a claim on it, he said, no, that they don't take pictures. They ended up putting glass shelves in the trunk of my car because he said didn't have the wall space to put anymore glass items in the truck. So, they didn't complete the move. Rewind to payment instructions. I called the office to explain what we were told regarding when payment was due to the office manager. She repeatedly stated she didn't know why we were told that, and that it was incorrect. I also had to get her to reduce charges due to time charged to us for 1 hour being lost, and 30 minutes waiting on supervisor to bring gloves. The movers were clumsy, careless, contradictive, unaccountable, filled with plausible deniability, while hurrying and dragging their feet all at the same time! This was a local move and ended up being a 6- and 1/2-hour ordeal! Manager not very cooperative, and CSR not very knowledgeable about policy and procedure where she is employed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! At least this location.

   The Worst Moving Company

   The WORST moving experience I have ever had. I was told that I was hiring "professional movers". But what I got was a pile of broken, trashed items. These guys are awful. Furniture was dropped in the house, without arranging it or at least getting it to the correct rooms. Boxed items were falling off the truck. Management is useless. Do not use this company, you will regret it.

   Dishonest

   Worst moving company I’ve ever dealt with: 6 houses and 4 states. They do not come out to your home to look at what they will be moving they just give you an inaccurate estimate. The guys moving you inform you to tip them and feed them and tell them when to take a break. They left a whole pack of cigarette butts, portion of burger and fries on my freshly graveled driveway. If they didn’t want to pack something they would toss it in the closet as if I wasn’t going to vacuum or confirm all items were packed. After forgetting to deliver all our storage that was supposed to be separated from everyone else’s, they had to come all the way back to OK to bring what they thought was the rest: 3 very large tv’s, 20’ extension ladder, half master closet, almost everything in the kitchen. Yes they brought other people’s items mixed with ours. There are many lost and broken items. After almost 2 months of me sending weekly emails requesting status on repairs/replacement they found a company to repair some things and they gave a 5+ months until they can get to ours. No response from management. My inventory list was blank and I didn’t receive it until the 1st delivery. They didn’t use the mattress bags that they had me pay for. They don’t box tv’s. GM couldn’t care less. Save yourself the lost and broken property and stress. Stay away from this company.

   DO NOT USE

   I used Two Men and a Truck in Washington DC for just packing services, DON'T DO IT. I was 100% gaslit and they took advantage. 1. When my movers arrived (different company a few days later) before moving any boxes they began to show me that the one piece of tape holding the boxes together was completely open, that the bottom of the boxes HAD NO TAPE so when they lifted all my belongings fell out, and that the boxes were overpacked. When bringing up these issues to two men and a truck I was asked how they could know it wasn't the movers fault (i had video of the boxes on the day they were packed 3 days prior to the movers), that I seemed happy day of so why was I upset now and that the burden fell on my as the customer to in real time life the boxes/check the tape to ensure it was up to moving standards (I am not an expert it is why I hired a PROFESSIONAL packing company). They were only willing to refund me $75 the cost of the materials they brought that I used. They do not care that this level of packing is representative of their reputation. 2. The packers did not bring enough packing material so I had to pay for ubers both ways to go to a hardware store to get more packing materials with one of the movers after they had already taken more time than expected. 3. The packers stated their driving time was much longer than it was and only when pressed on the exorbitant charge did the management check the GPS to change the cost. Overall, the management spoke to me multiple times . They claimed to make concessions (rectifying their own miscalculations) and fully put the blame on me for their poor quality. My movers asked me if I packed the boxes myself that is how bad this company is.

    Do not use

    To start - I only had 7 items these movers had to move. They did not completely wrap all my furniture and was asking me for supplies (tape and scissors). Movers damaged my furniture, my walls, and my hardwood floors. Customer service is unresponsive and unwilling to work with you regarding any damage claim. Charged for time that was not used. Also, I asked a mover to take a part a piece of furniture, was disregarded, and it was hauled over my balcony when I live on the second floor. Very unprofessional and still makes my head spin. Would not recommend them!!!
